How long did it take for them to send your statements after you request them? I got the standard letter back within a week, but still waiting for the statements. They have got 14 days left before I have to take it further if I haven't recieved them.

    Thanks
    Cheryl
Barclays sent mine within 2 weeks (around 10 days iirc)
  • I am about to to contact Barclays but I don't know where to send the letter. Is it my local branch or is there a national address?

Regards and Thanks if you can help.
  • hi there im new to this site but ive found it to be a real help im half way through claiming my charges back as im just sending the letter off with all my statments, i would like to here how people have got on through barclays and how many people have gone to court and won and i would like to here if people have lost there fight for there money back, Im finding this all a bit scary but i want to go through with it as the claim is worth £3500

also ive spoken to barclays card about getting my statments for the last 6 years but they have told me it will cost me £3 a statment is that right?
  • If you ask for statements, yes it will cost you per statement. You need to send out the letter "Ask for charge details" under the DPA and this will cost maximum of £10. Plenty of people claiming from Barclays, I'll pop your thread into the Barclays thread so you can read of other users experiences.

...and they sent my cheque back, probably thought it'd save them refunding me when I successfully claim back my charges! :D

Anyway the guys at Barclays must be reading this board cos after all my grumbling I got my statements through today (for reference that was 4 weeks and 1 day).

Going through it all it looks as though I'll be claiming back circa £2000! Hope I get it....

A question though regarding my claim; in 2001 I was charged an "Unauthorised overdraft fee" which amounted to £20 per time (x3) there after it is all paid referrals, can I claim for the "Unauthorised overdraft fee"?

I eagerly await your reply so that I can print out my letter and get it in the post :rotfl:

Statements came today, charges came to £1115, which was less than I expected but will come in handy if/when I get it back!

Will send of first letter tomorrow and see how it goes.

    Hi
A similar question really, i have recieved an offer which i am inclined to reject, i was thinking of calling and/or sending the letter offering to accept an ammount 25% less than my claim. Has anyone had any luck with this course of action?

    Cheers in advance

Is it me or am i just asking really dumb questions?
