Thank you for your reply, I shall send out the last letter offering a further 7 days today.
I suppose it was wishful thinking that I could put the 2 accounts through on the same claim! Would have saved £30 though. Oh well.

The banks 14 days aren't up until tomorrow though so please don't rush things as they do have to have time to respond. You can put the claims in together but you aren't at that stage as yet.
I'll pop your thread into the Barclays thread so you can read other peoples' experiences.0 -
Just filling in the allocation questionnaire and it says to return it to the local court plus the court fee but we paid £120 when we filed on line. Does this cover the cost or do we have to pay again at local level?
Why do Barclays have to be the worst!!!!!!! Haven't even had an offer!!!0 -
Hi All,
I don't want to put a dampner:( on the issue but today i have sent of my first letter to Barclays along with a £10 cheque for my bank statements.
This forum has been a tremendous help to me so far and i have read lots about what i am taking on, along with lots of threads from people who have been succsesful.
However, I have not yet come acress any failure stories.
Is this due to the fact that everyone who has claimed has won, or do they loose interest in informing people if things don't work out as they had hoped?
The reason i ask is that if there are people out there who have failed, their reasons could be of help to others if they know the reasons of a failed claim.
The other thing i would like to do is run a diary on the forum of how my claim goes as i think this would also be a benefit to others who take on this option.
I am already very possative about this course of action as i have nothing to loose.
1, I no longer bank with Barclys as i had to open a simple account with another high street bank due to my financial situation so, If they want to close my accounts (3) they can do.
2, The money that i have paid out over the past 6 years to Barclay has already gone. Therefore if i win it is nothing short of a complete bonus.
If i am successful the money that i get back will pay off some of the arrears that i have due to Barclays and, the amount of charges I received.
I hope that i can be of help to someone.
Good Luck and keep strong.:T0 -

Some people have not been successful, but has nearly always been due to their own circumstances, not the process, the main reasons include:
- Not progressing because they have an overdraft they're unable to repay on demand
- Stopping before the court stage because they are worried about court
- Stopping up at the court stage because they can't afford the court fee
There shouldn't really be any other obstacles I can think of.0 -
Sorry but we don't have room on the board for everyone to run a diary of their progress, plus having all the Barclays stories in one thread helps all the other claimers from Barclays see what is happening to other MSE users and they benefit from the questions being asked or I should say from reading the answers.0

Just bumping this question....I think you do have to pay again...£80 isn't it? Or does this amount relate to the claim? Like it does when you first file your claim?0 -
The further court costs are £100 for a claim of over £1,500.

They have actually charged me less than I thought.
Will they still offer half of that first?0 -

If you are on a low income and on any benifit, like tax credit ect.. then you can ask the county court for EX160 form to fill in, and this will exclude you from any court fees you may need to pay. I did this and saved £220.:beer:Not just a white vanman:cool:
I'm no expert in things really but i do have 36 years of experience in life, and some of those years fighting off bailiffs.
Nicknamed Victor Meldrew among friends as i love to complain;)0
