Do you mind me asking where you got the solicitor's name from? I have to send my court bundle next week, but so far nothing I've received through the post has had solicitor details on! So if I don't have any, I'll send to Barclays head office....0

Its on the acknowledgment form I received from the court this morning.0 -
Hmm. I'll take a look back through mine just in case - I wonder if Barclays are using the same solicitors for all of their cases?0

Might be worth looking into !
I assume they'll have their own department and team though ??0 -
Hi All,
I am a little earlier on in the process than most of you guys so would appreciate the benefit of your experience.
I have just received the copies of the statements from Barclays - I have to admit as I was always a little sceptical about the entire process but just going through the old statements has made me so mad!! Back in 2000, Barclays were charging £20 for an entire month of being overdrawn. Then it went up to £25 for a month and then it leapt up to £30 for each transaction!!
Now I have had the chance to go trhough the statements, we have approx £1500 of charges to claim but before I do, I have some questions:
1. they have provided statements dating back to 1999 - can I claim for these or only go back to Feb 2001 (6 years)?
2. I have found 'Paid Referral Fees' and 'Unauthorised overdraft fees' but I saw on a post somewhere that 'Interest Charged' can also be claimed. Is this correct?
3. I have heard that out of all the banks, Barclays are one of the trickiest to deal with. Should we claim statutory interest ? I'd be interested to hear which of the success stories were for the basic charges or with added interest.
Thanks!!!:heart2: Cookiepops :heart2:0 -
hello again thanks for the responces to my last question right received a letter from barclays 2 days ago saying my second letter(claiming back 2934) was received on the 29th of jan i posted it on the 26th giving them 14 days.
Basicaly letter says sorry your unhappy with the charges one of the team is on your case and will contact you as soon as possible. goes on to say we endevour to responde in your time scale but we can not guarantee that we will do so however we aim to find a solution within 4 weeks.
My question is what do a do next go straight to the next step and take them to court or ring them on the number provided. any help would be greatly appreciated. paul0 -

Hi, just read this response, when I raised my court claim I didn't update the interest figure instead I used only the original figure (which did include interest) that I'd asked Barclays for in November 06.
As Barclays are being pain in the backsides to us all I'm determined to claim every penny I'm entitled to!! How best should I proceed to ensure I don't miss out on a month or so of interest?
In case it's relevant I'm up to the stage where Barclays and I have both submitted our AQ's and am awaiting a court date.0 -
Following Martin's tips sent letter to Barclays with £10 cheque requesting last 5 years' statements. Cheque returned today saying request wasn't covered under data protection but on this occasion they would send statements free of charge. They have charged me £25 for each time I've gone over my overdraft so reckon they owe me loads! Any one else experienced this from Barclays?0

Only six years

This is not correct, if you use the Interest Calculator this will give you an interest figure that you can claim if it comes to the court stage although if the bank make you an offer they won't include this interest.
3. I have heard that out of all the banks, Barclays are one of the trickiest to deal with. Should we claim statutory interest ? I'd be interested to hear which of the success stories were for the basic charges or with added interest.
