  • Hi

    Am new to this today, so please excuse if this all looks a mess or whatever!! Anyway, I am in the middle of trying to claim back charges from 2 seperate barclays accounts - I recieved a letter from both accounts yesterday offering me half of what I have asked for!! Does anyone have any advise on what I should do...except or bail out and count myself lucky??:confused:

    What stage are you at in your claim?

    I would contact them and tell them that you would be prepared to accept their offer as part payment but would be continuing action to recover the whole amount.

  • I have just received the letters offering me the amounts yesterday. There is a return slip that I need to reply if I accept.
  • Have you managed to claim yet - what would you advise?
  • I have also just been made lower offer (am claiming on 2 seperate accounts with Barclays!) Do you suggest phoning to refuse, or sending a letter?

    Make sure there are no gagging clauses or agreements not to make any further claims before you sign.

    Do everything by letter.

    Hi all,

    I received an offer letter from Barclays yesterday as already mentioned. Th offer was less than half the amount. I haven't contacted Barclays to reject the offer - I just went straight ahead and submitted my claim via moneyclaim.

    I see the claim has been started now, though I have 2 questions;

    1. Should I have written to reject the offer before submitting the claim?

    2. On moneyclaim I am being asked this now:

    Do you wish to enter Judgment by Default or by Admission?

    What do I do? Thanks in advance for any advice.

    1. If you had already written twice asking for the money back, then you have made the right move.

    2. You don't need to enter anything for this yet. You only use these if you win in certain circumstances (you haven't yet).

  • Hi,

    Posted my first letter to Barclays on 5th Jan - today is the 27th and I still haven't heard anything from them - they haven't taken my £10 cheque either - has any one else had to wait this long for the first stage to happen? Also have an overdraft on my account would l have to pay this off???:confused:
