Good luck and dont let them win!

Has anyone successfully been able to claim against the 'barclays reserve' scheme ?
If so how did you do it and what was the outcome. Also what kind of charges did you claim for ?
I am abit confused because I know some of the banks are covered by the current ruling that puts things on hold but the OFT website said barclays new Aug 08 change of charges was not covered by this grace period. So did you only claim from July/Aug 08 or are you able to still get the full 6 years statements and claim everything.

Hello all,
just this minute phoned Barclays concerning the above. They have told me that they will not refund any of the £22 because this fee is an automatic fee and not an error in their part. So writing a letter is pointless.
Can anyone let me know if they have been succesful in this reclaiming this charge and if so, who did you write to..
thanks0 -
Sent my letter & £10 cheque asking for the charges detail and/or bank statements and recieved a lovely piece of a4 summarising the years entries and total so no help what so ever as i it follows this format:
Year 2004 Type Paid referral Entries 4 Total fees £100.00
needless to say i was as the title of the post suggests so ive just phoned the customer services and complained heavily to which they asked "what do u want me to do about it?" !!! so end result ive got 6 years of statements on way to present date barclays waiving the £5 fee they were asking for this service due to my donation of £10 prior to the call.0 -
Hi everyone,
Trying to claim my bank charges back from Barlcays, i have a full list of my charges, this i received after ringing the bank requesting this info, i've now worked out the interest...
Does anyone have the address i need to write to for Barclays to try and claim back my bank charges with interest.
Many Thanks!0 -
Hi everyone,
I too sent my initial letter off to Barclays today, have NO idea what to expect seeing as how so many people have had different initial outcomes, especially seeing as this whole situation goes back years (yet another thing i didn't even realise tho granted it probably didn't apply to me back then).
Anyhoo i'm also gonna mayyyyybe try my luck with Barclaycard charges (which confuses me even more than the bank charges!) and once i dig out the terms and conditions and info on my PPI for it and my old Egg loan i might consider looking at them too! but thats another thread!
I hope people still post on this thread cos it seems to have fizzled out compared to a few years back - I'll let y'all know what they say!

Hey,
I have also sent off my letter to BarclayCard to request how many charges/amounts etc... Once i get a response i'll post back.
Thanks0 -
Have spent the last hour looking for old statements and have found ones i didn't even open from 2006/7!! just goes to show how little i knew/wanted to know about how utterly rubbish i was with money when i was younger, and i know for a fact i was worse in the years before then too!!
God if only i knew then what i know now! I feel like a total tool !!!
After looking through about 25 odd various statements i have from the last couple of years i can already see about 5 paid referral fees at a tenner each per month at times, which i believe i can try to claim back as per the list in the article, and as that was my average over about a year from what i can remember. So to me it means that:
a) i was PANTS with money back in the day and wish someone gave me a slap in the face and told me how important money was!
and
b) if i get any result from the bank my overdraft will be clear in an instant!
Had to say this mainly cos im a bit shocked by what i've found out today lol.
