Today I got a letter back from the local branch telling me my complaint has been redirected to "Retail Bank CR DC Complaints Gateway". They gave a time frame of a few days either via letter or phone call with a resolution or next steps.
Im assuming everyone who has recently written had their claims moved to the complaints gateway?
I haven't sent my letter to local branch, mine was posted to Head Office in London, by
ut I wasn't moved to Retail Bank CR DC Complaints Gateway (whatever that is).
My letter I received in reply : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=8153275&postcount=2631Information - never enough, questions - always too many, decisions - not always the best

Hi there. I'm sorry to crash this thread, but I figured as it was Barclays you may be able to offer me some advice. I am about to submit a claim for £2995 in bank charges. I have a £5,000 overdraft limit and am currently about £1400 overdrawn. I can afford to call the bank and get them to reduce my overdraft limit to £1500. Is it worth me doing this in advance of writing to Barclays? Is my claim likely to be looked upon more favourably or should I wait? Thanks very much.0

HI... You need to be prepared for Barclays pulling the plug on your account if you tell them you are going after your bank charges. They will likely do that and cancel your averdraft altogether - and want it paying back there and then. So, think carefully - and if you are going to do it, as Martin has advised before , setup another account elsewhere just in case.
And my personal experience of Barclays is that they will do it - cos they can - and cos they are like that!

Please can anyone advise us what to do with this?

Thank you so much for this.

I don't see it would make any difference to your claim for you to reduce your overdraft facility so just send in your claim and follow the step by step guide in Martin's article.0 -

click the link on this page http://www.fos.org.uk/faq/bank-charges.html and read question 5. I found it on FOS website.....says you can take their offer and claim more money later if your offer was made AFTER July 2007...
Just to update my problem. I read the link and then tng the ombudsman. The man I spoke to was most helpful, we have a small business account and he said he will help us get a better offer form Barclays. He ask some questions and said he would send us a form to compete.
I feel more positive about this now. I have proof that Barclays hyave meesed up wuth this claim since we first ask for details of the charges - it took them months to even reply.
Thank you all for the advice.

Hi everyone - Just curious to know what is going on with this test case.
I have brought a court action using moneycliam.gov.uk and my claim so far has been rejected due to this testcase.
I am owed nearly £2,000 from barclays and want to know if I will see a penny of it. They are getting away with it as far as I can see.
There is a stay on proceedings apparently but I'm at a loss to what to do next.
Do you think they will get away with it or what??? I did all the letters Martin stated to do and took action against them with this online website but don't seem to be getting anywhere.
Please help!!!!!!

At the moment, the test case is being heard, so you'll need to sit tight until it's over. Please read Martin's update on the situation (link in my signature).0
