:confused::confused: Hi everyone would just like to thank Martin and all for help and advise but now i'm STUCK.
    CLAIMING £2750.00 + INTEREST=£3450.00
I have got as far as sending A letter stating that i would(without prejudice) take the £2750.00(full amount less interest)
I've now recieved an offer of £2090.00:T 25% less than full amount.

I phoned the bank who are not willing to negotiate.
Don't mean to sound greedy but it is my money that they pinched!!!!!!
 DO I SETTLE OR NOT????
I'm not totally desperate for the money at the moment(close though)but
"A bird in the hand" and all that.
Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated:confused:

Its your call mate but I would send them a letter saying you will accept this without prejudice as part payment but will continue until you get the full amount via the courts, they know its coming :)

  • If i send a letter accepting this as part payment(w-out prej) do they have to pay this or am I right in thinking they could withdraw the offer?
Do you recon FOS or Court?

I'm in the same boat as you it seems. I received my final offer from Barclays and tried calling to negotiate (twice!) but they wouldn't budge. They gave me the number for the FO and so I rang them. The FO took down my details and sent me a form to sign to complete (just basic details and to enclose copies of correspondence sent/received). I sent this back on Tuesday but now have no idea where this is going and how long its going to take. I'm beginning to wonder whether I should have taken the cash and just cut my losses. Has anyone out there gone through the FO for Barclays? I've been reading through all the threads but cant see anything?

    Hi Missy,
I've got my final offer today - which number did you ring to try and negotiate? was it the general customer relations number, or the ones listed above? confused-smiley-013.gif

I have had no response from them about my statements etc!

I noticed on some of the posts above they were on about the following numbers:

    0207 116 1943
    0207 116 4523
    0207 116 4753
    0207 116 4664

I don't think the general numbers would be able to negotiate as it's just basically a call centre. I rang them chasing up my letter last week and they told me what they'd offered, when I said I disagreed they didn't really know what to do

Let me know how you get on - I can't try them as at work
  • Hello again,
I just tried a couple of the numbers - they are only dealing with claims which are at the court stage unfortunately....oh well, it was worth a try anyway. Thanks for your help though!

I am reclaiming charges for my daughter, from Barclays.
I can't remeber where I sent the last letter to! Is it the local branch or the main offices?
She has worked out that they owe her £930. This was all taken out of her social security payments, direct into her account.
She used to get income support and child benefit, and the bank have left her without money many times, and she has been too upset to tell me, just made an excuse that she had spent her money or lost it!
Finally she told me and I am going to try to get it back.
    Thank You for any help!

    Hi

I confess I have been a lurker and have now registered.

This week I am at the stage with Barlcays with MCOL they acknowledged, then I applied for 'judgement by default' on the 29th day, which was accepted online....by the evening Barclays have defended and today MCOL says judgement rejected!!!!

I am now waiting for their defence to arrive in the post to see what it says and when a court date will be.

What does concern me slightly is the lack of Barclay Bank success recently....theres not been one for ages...hopefully this is down to people not submitting them....
