    Hiya,
I hope i don't burst yr bubble too much....we are at the tail end of claiming about 2500 from Barclays...going to court on Friday 27th July. They have been so uncommuncative with us. Once we declined there standard £1000 letter they stopped all communcations with us!! We haven't even received a copy of the papers they plan to present to the court....i have called and emailed them several times to see if they wish to settle beforehand...

    Here's to friday!!!confused-smiley-013.gif

I wish you more luck than what we've had with them!!!!

Hi My 28 days are up on thursday too(so is my sisters) We rang the moneyclaim helpline as we had not heard anything she said that Barclays are defending our claims. and it is being moived to our local county court. we are panicking a bit because they offered us a settlement (which was for a lot less) I rang barclays and said I would accept less than my claim but more than there offer they said no. we are worrying if that will go against us when we go to court. has anyone else been to court yet with barclays - wehat can we expect?

thank you for your help the account that barclays is talking about was closed two years ago. i'm worried that if i accept there offer that will be it.i'm now considering going to the ombudsman and waiting to see what he has to say, what would you advise

i would say not to worry about it but that's easier said than done isn't it!!? We too said to barclays that we would be prepared to offer a lower figure and we proposed a figure to them to which they ignored....we have written, phoned and emailed them and they have igmored us each time...it can only look better for you when and if it comes to court to show that you HAVE tried to settle things before going to court....i am sure many other people will be along to offer their advice.....
  • hi all help wanted, had my statments back since then no letters at all from barclays and the 14 days are up. do i go to court? help!

Mine is up this Thursday and I have rang, emailed etc to which they can't be bothered to call or email back( how rude )
It's took nearly 6 months for me and I intend to fight every step of the way.
This is what they want people to back down and accept lower payouts. You can be sure I will be at court no matter what.

Good luck to you for friday. But i dont think it will even go to friday if they do what they usually do. I would expect you to receive a letter by wednesday or thursday at the latest, offering you a full payment. If they do then dont let them get away with any charges they added since you started your claim. Iphoned them first thing in the morning accepted the offer of £3400 and told them i wanted over £300 of charges they had give me since starting the claim and i got it without any trouble. I faxed my copy of the paper work over and had the money in my account in the afternoon. Dont be affraid to ask, your the customer and its your money.

Good luck and let me know how you get on.
