Barclays Bank (merged)

You need to wait to hear back from the court now. You will receive the same copy of the judgement that will be sent to the bank. This gives them a time limit to pay by. If they want to be awkward, they can always apply to have this judgement set aside, then enter a defence of the case (this seems unlikely though seeing as they have a very weak case). How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Issue the court claim once the 14 days are up, and if they haven't offered to settle in full. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

About to respond to Barclay's offer of £1000 (against my claim of 2270), is there a template letter I could use to say I reject this (or indeed accept as part payment against full amount)
Thanks for any help.0 -
Use something like................
I cannot accept your offer of £1000 as full and final settlement of my claim. I will accept this only as part payment and without prejudice, but I will continue my claim for the balance of the charges. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Barclays offered me £650 for a claim on £1540, anyway i sent a letter to them rejecting this and threatened court - i have rec'd a letter today from them saying "you now intend to start legal proceedings, we haven't reached a amicable resolution" etc. I phoned them and said £650 is too little the lady on the phone said we can only go to £750 and i have accepted this. I really wanted to fight and get all my money back however due to my circumstances at the min i need the £750. (Washing machine blew up on xmas eve and the car has broken down!!)
It was worth phoning as i got an extra £100.
Anyway good luck to everyone else and i hope you get your money back from this awful bank.Best Wins of 2010 = Apple ipad & £100 Dejager vouchers:j:jJune Prizes = Kids Card game, Miners nail polish set,L'oreal million lashes mascara.0 -
Good morning, i'm having some serious problems. I've had my claim in against Barclays for my charges, nearly £2600 including my court fees. I've filed a claim on MoneyClaim, Barclays did not respond inside the 14 day period, meaning I win by default. Upon requesting a judgement through MoneyClaim they have rejected my claim. I have now got the following message under my claim details:
"Your judgment request has not been accepted. You are unable to take any further action online on this claim."
I'm now seriously regretting turning down the £1000 good will gesture from Barclays last month.
Can anyone help me? I'm struggling to know what to do now.Proud to be dealing with my debts

It sounds like Barclays may have acknowledged the claim, and want to enter a defence. Your case has not been struck out, it is still going on. My guess is that you will next hear from the court with an allocation questionnaire, and telling you which court your case will be allocated to.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I received a letter yesterday saying that they are sorry I had to contact them about the level of service I have received and they will contact me no later than 22nd January. Their 14 days is up on the 8th January. Do I wait for them to contact me or send the second letter on the 8th?
They have also said that if I wish to discuss the matter I can phone them. Do I do that or do everything by letter? We finally did it! Debt free 28/6/10 :T  :T :beer:0
