Feeling rather nervous now, sent my claim online through MCOL and it has today been defended.
What happens now?? I have heard a lot mentioned about calling Barclays! But who do you call and what do you say!!
I am extremley nervous now, and feel like just leaving it from here! I never expected it to go this far!!!
Don't panic! I'm in the same boat as you. I'm just waiting for a court date myself. As soon as you have this date, give Barclay's litigation team a call on 0207 116 1943 and they'll put you through to the person dealing with your claim. It seems Barclay's policy is to keep you waiting as long as possible - making you sweat as much as possible too. Hold tight! When you call them say that you are giving them one more opportunity before meeting in court. At this point (having read all the other threads) they offer to settle in full.0 -

Hi everyone,
I had my Woolwich open plan current account taken over by Barclays in May
I am just thinking about reclaiming bank charges from Woolwich. As my Woolwich account no longer exists, could someone tell me who I write to for past WOOLWICH STATEMENTS? Woolwich or Barclays?
Thanks in advance

I have been going through the process of claiming back charges from Barclays with my son. It started last December and reached a court date of 9th July, last Monday at Liverpool. The bank didn't bother to turn up. The Judge questioned my son and told him he would write to him and give him a verdict by the 2nd week in August, as he had to see what happened in two other cases and also take some advice. He told him if the case goes against him he can appeal and he will give him the permission to do that in writing! So how bad does that look.0

hi guys,
i'm also tryin to claim back from barclays, only a measly sum of £495 but hey, they owe me. anyway i had a letter sayin they lookin in2 the complaint but could take weeks so im about to send the next letter threatening court action but... i have a dilemma, when they sent my statements through (for free) there was some statements for a clients business account mixed in! do i mention this in the letter and use as a bargaining tool or leave it for now and use at a later date if need be?
i apologise if this is hijacking someone post, this forum stuff is new to me
thanx in advance

My better half just received her 6 years of statements from Barclays.
We've highlighted and totalled all the charges and we're ready to send our claim in.
Is the address the same as the address used to request the statements :-
Barclays Data Protection
Radbroke Hall
Knutsford
Cheshire
WA16 9EU
Or is there seperate contact address for sending in the claim?
Thanks in advance!0 -

Hi everyone,
I recently wrote back to barclays dated 03/07/2007, refusing the offer of £700. Total charges made came to £985.
but as of yet, i have recived no replies and its the 16th! i gave them a timescale of 14 days to either give me the full charges or face court.
shall i go ahead with MCOL? if i do, i am currently on Income support due to an accident, do i still have to pay the fees upfront?
also, please can someone tell me how to put the wording on the MCOL site.
any advice help would be much apprteciated.
Thanks everybody

I would suggest to file a claim, but i would also suggest that you get the papercopy and not MCOL, that is an N1 form from your local court. MCOL can be notoriously difficult to complete and i think it should not be recommended as a way of filing the claim. Many times, the lack of characters can cause problems at a later stage. Wait for the post tomorrow if that is the deadline. Then pop to your local court for the paperwork, Complete it and take it back to them, ask them just to check it and take two copies of your schedule of charges.0
