You can try calling into the branch first. So they are not in their right to charge this amount are they ? I will write to them on his behalf and request the money back - no wonder the banks are so rich !
If they refuse do I just go ahead with the court issue procedure - even for a small amount ? thanking you0 -

They are over charging, that's the whole point why we can make these claims
And YES if they refuse to refund it, take it to court! They will soon pay up as its not worth fighting.
But I still think it would be far quicker and easier to either ring the branch or call in. The branch staff do know that these claims are going on and that customers are getting paid out. A senior member of staff or branch manager will spot the cost benefits of refunding the charge and sort it out on the spot.Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -

Hello, am new here and have just received a date for a court hearing after telling barclays bank I will be taking them to court, I am now worrying as it appears that not many people get this far. I wrote requesting money and did not get any response and even the county court getting involved has done nothing, has anyone been to court and what is the process? Please help. Thanks AB0

Any advice would be great!
I have got as far as taking Barclays through the court proceedings but have now received an offer of £1620 as a gesture of goodwill (how kind!). The total amount owed is nearer the £3K mark but I am not really sure of what I am getting in to if I contest this. Am I being greedy thinking that I can get the full amount or should I be happy that they are offering half? Have not been sent any correspondance from claims-on-line other than an acknowledgement of the claim. Don't know if I am confident to go any further. Please help. Thanks. You cant have everything; where would you put it?Reclaimed: marbles c/card-£131.00,MBNA c/card-£385.00,Capital One c/card-£230.00,Natwest c/card-£248.68,Nationwide PPI-£1590.88,Nationwide c/card-£56.21,Barclays PPI-£2805.280 -

No, you're not being greedy. Only you can decide at which stage you wish to finish proceedings though. See the Success thread stickies at the top of the forum for inspiration. Thousands have been successful already at getting the full amount.0 -
Panic ye' not!
I'm in the same boat as you and whilst I do have some concerns (I'M TAKING A BANK TO COURT AFTER ALL) do take the time to read through the other threads.
As soon as you have your court date, give their litigation dept a call on 0207 116 1943 and they will put you through to the person dealing with your claim. It seems that Barclay's policy is to settle a couple of days before the court date.
Good luck and stay strong!;)0
