i've recently received 6 years of statements from barclays and i didn't have to pay for them. the bank said it doesn't charge for them as you are entitled to them. i went in to the bank and requested them and i received them fairly quickly. i think its best if ask directly and not send a cheque in, then that way you won't have to pay

    *** hope this helps ***

    Hi there

Im after a little advice if possible. I am on step 4 with Barclays, I have sent them the letters with a deduction fron the total charges and there 14 days was up today and no reply in the post.

The next step is actually going to court!! A bit freaked out about this and not to sure where to start.

Should I just wait a little further or crack on and take the ba****ds to court!

    Thanks is advance.

    Paul

I just made a simple list on excel, stating charge date, description and charge amount and totalled them up on there and sent that.

  • Hi,Im too with Barclays bank and took the jump to try to get some cash bank.. I started about 2 months ago. Barclays were pretty speedy to espond to me, the only hassle I had was waiting for the statments to arrive, ( they reported that they were a bit back logged with everyone doing the same). They did arrive 2 weeks later, and then another parcel of duplicates, so I had two lots. 4 weeks ago I sent the first template letter in, along with the charges I wanted back. Today I have recieved a letter claiming that they do feel I am in the wrong asking for them back, but ...... they would like to offer me £655 as a generous offer!!Your bound to get something back, and don't be afraid to ring your bank to chase things up if their taking their time. I did, and they were fine about it. As long as you sent your letters recorded delivery, I have all faith that Barclays will deliver.Good luck and don't worry.Bristol girl.

I have finally had contact with the litigation team at barclays and it turns out the highly acclaimed Dino is in charge of my case. I have tried ringing for days now and to no sucess so i decided to email all of the team members at once to get a reply. If you go to the Litigation team thread on www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk they have a list of all the people working on cases on their way to court. E mail in and someone will let you know who is dealing with your case and what to expect. Dino has advised me they will be looking to settle out of court to nearer the figure i'm asking closer to my court date.

Yes i have this in writing!
