:rotfl: Afternoon all
just had my first offer from barclays £2400.00
£3762.25 + £120 costs claimed + interest amounted to just over £4000.
so i rang customer relations and said sorry but i can''t exept this offer, but am
quite willing to negotate and settle b for it goes to court.
Was politly told this offer is not for negotiating it is the final offer.
o well its there loss because i will add more interest to the caim up untill the court date which i have not had yet. Is there a template leter i can use to send to them, (were they can shove it ) refusing there kind offer

Hi,
We have been chasing statements from Barclaycard since march!! They firstly wrote asking for previous addressess as they could not find our closed account. We then replied with the information asked for. A week or two later got a reply saying that if the account was closed then there is a chance that all details of that account have been deleted from their files. Had enough at this point so passed it onto the FOS two weeks ago stating that they were not providing statements and asking for charges that we new they had taken from the account a few years ago!
Got a reply today from Barclaycard, they have basically said that we can regard this as their final response. They still say they cant find our account despite having. account number, card number, previous addressess. so tough!!!
Not heard from fos but will phone on Monday. Can they get away with this?? Anybody got an idea how the FOS will react?
Sorry to go on but v v v frustrating0 -
Hi all
After my last post and finding that there is no template letter to refuse an offer we have typed the following and thought it may be useful to someone else - comments would be apprieciated.

Dear Sirs
Account ****** Sort Code ****
Your ref: ******
I refer to your letter dated ***** recieved today, as per telephone conversation today I am writing to confirm that I feel that I can not accept your offer of £**** towards the total amount of our claim as full and final settlement.
As per telephone conversation I offered to negotiate a out of court settlement but this was refused being told that this is the full and final offer, I therfor feel that I have no alternative, than to proceed to court to reclaim the full amount including interest and court costs.
I also understand by the comments made to myself during the above telephone conversation that no other offer will be made, but if you wish to discuss this matter,
I am willing to accept an offer of £**** as full and final settlement regarding my claim, if this is made within the next 7 days.
Sincerely,
******

I'm trying to claim £1100, and have taken Barclays to court. papers have come back saying i cannot fill in a allocation questionaie, but i may still be charged for it anyway. in the mean time Barclays have offered me £715. i wrote back to them stateing i would settle for £1000 out of court, but the reply was that they would only offer me £715 and they are defending the court case. I have tried to open up an account with another bank as i need a bank account with card for work purposes, but have been turned down, (low credit score). do i settle for the £715 and hopefully keep existing bank account open, or do i carry on and have the chance of paying out more money, loosing the case and probably have the bank close my account, i,m up to the limit on my £2000 overdraft withn them, can someone please advise me, i'm really worried over all this0

Go to just about any bank and ask for "A basic bank account"0

I have received an offer of £475 from Barclays Bank, rather than the full £951.27. Does anyone think I should accept this? If not, do I need to tell them or should I simply register the claim with moneyclaim.gov.uk and take it from there? I would appreciate any advice as I really don't know what is the best thing to do...0

Hello all.
Barclays bank do not seem to want to play with me. I sent the first letter and was declined outright (my partner was made an offer straight away - this made me furious!) then I had to contact them on 2 occasions to get them to send out my statements. I have since sent another letter requesting £405 as immediate settlement or the amount plus interest and I've had no response in 6 weeks. My letter clearly stated I wanted a response within 2 weeks. What do you think would be the best course of action that I take now? Any help much appreciated as I'm slighty concerned about taking them to court....0
