Omg Barclays have offered me £650 today which of course i am not going to accept - this is less than half what they owe me. I will phone them on monday and decline the offer.
This process has been so quick so far, 3 weeks in all if that!Best Wins of 2010 = Apple ipad & £100 Dejager vouchers:j:jJune Prizes = Kids Card game, Miners nail polish set,L'oreal million lashes mascara.0 -
Yeah, tell them that's not good enough, then they should come back to you and say there's nothing else they can do - it's all been fairly quick for me, and I'm now waiting for them to acknowledge my court proceedings.
Lets stick together, we'll get our cash! :beer:0 -
here, here Drewster!!
Shall i send them the next letter or phone them? anyone had success with a better offer over the phone?Best Wins of 2010 = Apple ipad & £100 Dejager vouchers:j:jJune Prizes = Kids Card game, Miners nail polish set,L'oreal million lashes mascara.0 -
Are you still in the initial letters stage (ie, you haven't actually started through the court yet)?
I wrote to them every time before the court stuff - they were pretty quick replying, just to say they wouldn't offer me more money. If it's at the court stage, I've read a few threads which have mentioned speaking to the person dealing with your case, and they sometimes settle on the phone...0 -
Thanks Drewster.

Hi all,
Just need a little advice please.
So far sent letters to Natwest and Barclays on the 06/12/06 requesting charges and interest back (just read that I shoud not request interest until MCOL - oops)
Natwest - £535.79
Barclays - £3903.19
Heard nothing from Natwest, but today received a letter from Barclays saying that they are looking into my concerns and will have an answer or update as quickly as poss but no later than the 10th Jan 2007.
Is this a delay tatic, or are they over run with requests?
What do I do now, sit and wait or keep by my schedule of 20th Dec?
Oh and another thing is it 14 working days or does it not matter?
Thanks0 -
I can only help with Barclays, the same happened to me the letter i had said they would be in touch before the 7th Jan 07. I rec'd a letter yesterday see my above post and they offerd me less than half the amount i am claiming back - so i guess in the next few days you should receive a letter from them with an offer.Best Wins of 2010 = Apple ipad & £100 Dejager vouchers:j:jJune Prizes = Kids Card game, Miners nail polish set,L'oreal million lashes mascara.0

Barclays try to dictate the schedule by telling you they'll get back to you before.... whenever, usually about twice as long as you've given them.
IGNORE these letters, IGNORE the pitiful offers, it is YOUR money and YOUR claim and YOU dictate the schedule and the terms.
Maybe I'm a bit petty, but I love having a bit of the power back with me! I think the whole process is very empowering.
By the way, you don't necessarily get an offer, even for a small amount, that early in the claim.0 -
Received my statements on Friday so am going to post my second letter tomorrow. The charges total £410 but I'm going to have a go.We finally did it! Debt free 28/6/10 :T  :T :beer:0

Posted my letter yesterday requesting payment of £420. It states on the letter that I want a reply in 14 days. Now as it's Christmas next week when should I expect to hear? Will it be 14 working days, does it include weekends, bank holidays? We finally did it! Debt free 28/6/10 :T  :T :beer:0
