  • Ok, i've photocopied my statements.
I posted them today 1st class recorded delivery, Thursday 14th December 2006.
Hopefully i'll get a quick reply.
I only asked for the charges, not the interest, as I was advised.

Can I accept part payment and then go ahead for the rest of it? That's if I'm offered any at all! lol
  • Can i claim back from Barclays fee's for 'Paid Referral' at £30.00 a time ?
  • Hi everyone,

I fired off my first letter to Barclays a couple of days ago in order to try and get back bank charges incurred in August 2004.

I didn't have the relevant statements, nor did I request them from Barclays prior to sending off the letter. This is because I knew the charges were made in August 2004 as I was moving house at the time and took my eye of my finances, going a few pounds over my overdraft limit.

Anyway, my questions are: as I know the date of my only three charges to within a few weeks and stated so in my letter, should I have still requested and sent a copy of the relevant statement? Secondly, I have stated that the charges were £30 each. I'm pretty sure this is right, but can someone please confirm that this is what Barclays were charging for going over your overdraft limit in 2004?

Good luck to everyone else out there starting new claims and thanks for the help.

Yes, just make it clear, you're only accepting any amount as partial payment and you will continue to pursue for the remainder.

Yes those are the charges you need to claim back.

Hi, i have just checked my stats for 2004 and the charges then were £25 each. I don't think you need to request the stats for that time, as you know when it was. Also i never sent copies of my stats - i just noted the month and the charges in the letter to them.

  • HI guys - I'm about to start claiming from Barclays through the Moneyclaim site. They offered me £300 of the £700 I am trying to reclaim, so I said no!

However, I still can't find the working for 'particulars of claim' that fits in the box - any help please? :(
  • I've just started my claim against Barclays using moneyclaim.gov.uk :T

I want my £700 back and I'm waiting for the next steps now... it's exciting but makes me slightly nervous at the same time

I'll be keeping track of my progress via this thread, so it's great to know there is a community of support here to keep me going.

Will post as soon as something happens! No doubt I'll need guidance along the way... :snow_grin

I have a small number of charges (need to confirm I have all my old statements but totalling under £100) on an old Barclaycard. From what I have heard Barclays play hard and make you go through to submitting a claim to the courts, which I believe costs? Is it still worth pursuing? Will I get costs as well as the charges back?

    Thanks
