Hi,
Can someone give me some info here plz.
Ive submitted a claim to the online courts which was accepted and served to barclays on the 1st may, they then acknowledged this on the 15th. It says they have 28 days from wen they were served to file a defense, does that mean they have til 12pm tonight or another 14 days?
I tried goin onto the next stage with the online money claim but it wont let me. Im hoping it will by 2moro and barclays wont take it to court.

Barclays are acting like pigs with our business account. We've held this account for over 30 years and still we are treated like we have just entered the country in the dead of night!
At the beginning of April I sent letter number one asking for the last 6 years bank charges (there are gaps in the statements where they never send them) this was ignored. I have tried to telephone and no one can give me information.
A week ago I went to the business branch and handed over another copy of the letter along with a letter of complaint. The 40 days has now passed and still we have not recieved a statement or a letter of achnowledgement.
I telephone the numbr that was shown on this thread 05457 555555 and came across a woman that would not give me any information because she said I am not allowed to speak on behalf of my husband (its his account). I told her that I have completed all forms and can sign chqs/loans etc - was set up by area manager Michael Allen years back. She would not budge and said I should take my passport into the branch to prove my identity!!!
I was next put through to a supervisor who said he would not help me and that I had no authority to speak about the account and to go back to the branch - two bus rides away!
No wonder we are closing this account after the way Barclays treat a customer of so many years.
I am livid and sure this is another way of getting out of paying what is legally ours - our bank fees!

PS cant even ring branch as they wont put me through!0 -
Ha! found another number and the lovely lady not only spoke to me but has sent a message to the branch to chase it up...!!!

You have a wonderful way with words. especially entered at the dea of nitht when you have been with them for thirty years. I have had my account longer
than yours and I am being treated like something they trod in.0 -
Re: John Michael 5227910. Your description of Barclays is perfect. No wonder they are having to axe jobs. They must be losing customers every minute.0

Just to let you all know my friend won full claim plus court costs back last week from Barclays. 2k+
Barclays defended on last day, and she also had no AQ to fill in, but on the day she recieved her court date, she rang Barclays told them she had a court date and did they want to settle out of court. There answer...
Oh yes if you have had your court date then yes we will be settling, a email was sent for offer of full amount same day, she printed it off signed it scanned and emailed it back, money was in her account a hour later.
Keep going everyone, it was a long journey for my friend, she started her claim in Nov 06, putting the court bundles together was a nightmare at times and the stress almost got to much for her.
But after seeing her face last week when the money finally hit the bank proved it was all worth it.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Hi Guys, Just to let you know I received a goodwill payment of £1250 when claiming for £1500, All this just by sending the 1st letter. Whole process with Barclays from DPA to Money in my account took around 9 weeks..
Guess Im one of the lucky ones.
Keep going lads and lasses you will get there in the end.0 -

I'e been told that our personal business manager (he who is always off on corporate shindigs) has to telephone us by midday today(some sort of Barclay rule to make us feel better) - that'll be interesting! Considering its this chap that would never sort out banking problems a few years back resulting in my 'sit in' at the local branch before they closed for the christmas break, perhaps he will jump and telephone me.
Three and a half hours to go and counting...
