Went through my bank statements (have them up to 4 years ago) and I have only been charged £180 in bank charges - is it worth claiming this from Barclays, bearing in mind I have a £700 overdraft with them? scared that they will want the overdraft money up front now...?

    thanks
    £[strike]4,500 [/strike] 4,313.42 Loan (last payment Oct 2009!)
    £1,000 overdraft

So, its taken since 2nd October 2006 (first request for statements which eventually arrived in February!) and they have just filed a defence at the last minute with MCOL. I am currently awaiting court details as Barclays disputed the whole amount (£1800ish). My questions are: How long will it be before the court date? and Should I add more interest until that date?

Many thanks for your help- My overdraft will soon be gone!!
    Hopefully! ;)

    Hi
i have just got my statements back from barclays after waiting 60 days and sending a second letter,i have know calculated the amount to claim in charges is £3127 without out interest.:o
First should i add the interest on?
and second do i send copies of the statements i have received and highlight the charges, or do i use the online calcuator which i think is only if you want to add the interest on!!

    if any one can help!!!

    Wow..nice total.
Send the first letter without the interest. the reason for this is that the bank does'nt have to pay the interest by law untill you start the court claim.
But you can ask for it in the second letter when you send a copy of the charges printed from the calculator. As for the statments i woulndt bother sending them in at this stage as they know exactly when all of your charges are. so save your time and paper untill a later date.

    Hello all !!

I'm sorry if my questions have already been asked/answered, but the amount of information is very overwhelming and have got myself very confused :o

My situation is: i have sent letter 1 asking for my bank statements and i received a letter back with my cheque saying i will receive my statements within the 40 days and they wont charge me, which was up on the 8th may. i have not as of yet received them and have heard nothing else from Barclay's.

    My questions are:
    1) do i just carry on waiting?
    2) do i phone them (which i know isn't normally a good idea)
    3) or is there a template letter on this wonderful site that i can send them to remind them that they have exceeded the 40 day period?

I hope this made sense

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post :D

Right, I've received my statements from Barclays (having requested them on 1/3/07 - long story!) and am about to send the letter asking for my money back. Do I send the letter to their head office in London, to the branch or is there a specific address it should go to?

    Thanks folks
