The bank responded to my claim letter with a basic letter that says they cannot deal with my complaint in my timescale.
Therefpre I am about to send off my Letter Before Action on Monday. They are on my timescale now!
If they do not reply to this within the 14 day period, what do I do then??
How do I start the court proceedings etc?0 -
A question about barclaycard (I'm sorry if this has already been posted as I couldn't find it). I've been going over my statements and on some of the more recent statements where I've been charged for going over limit, my own fault I know, the charge has gone down to £12 as we've seen on the news lately.
Now can I or should I claim those do you think or should I start from the point before they were lowered?0 -
Today Through The Post I Received 3 Packages From Barclays All With 6years Worth Of Bank Statements In Them I Wouldnt Mind But Im At The 14days Or Court Letter Stage Having Received The Statements Already 3 Weeks Ago!
What A Nightmare.
Am Having Fits About Court!
Got 5 Days To Go Till I Can Start Proceedings Does Anyone Think Its Worth Calling The Leicester Number Before That To See What They Say?
thats nothing...after winning nearly £4000 from them last month I closed my account with them and then 2 weeks later they sent me a paying in book. IDIOTS!!!!:rolleyes:Not just a white vanman:cool:

You can try calling them if you like, as you have nothing to lose but i would wait till after the 14 days are up as you dont want to sound too pushy. And in my experience i have found that calling them is a waste of time as they just tell you to go ahead and do what ever you need to do. But if you do speak to someone then get thier name and log the time and date of call because in the unlikely event of you going to court it will look good on you for making extra contact with the bank to settle sooner and any judge would put that move in your favour.
Good luck :TNot just a white vanman:cool:

Hi all
I'm claiming £2,800 in charges from barclays and have had an offer of £1800 as gesture of goodwill, I've written to say I accept it as part payment but i intend to claim for the rest by taking them to court. But i thought about ringing them up, like others have done and say 'cmon, you know im gona win why dont you just pay up' but who do i ring? do i ring my local branch or do i ring the number in leic head office where they send me goodwill gesture.
Hope someone can help0 -
If I were you, I would contact the number from where the letter came from. If you go to your local branch they may not have the details or authority to make a decision on your request. Well done on a reasonable offer. I'm claiming for my Dad on Barclays, but we're still at the statements stage, so it's encouraging to hear:dance: Proud to be dealing with my debts0

Call the department that sent the letter. You will need to quote the referance number on the letter.
I have been through this process but don't be supprised if you hit a brick wall with them. I got no increase in the offer and told that the offer was ''Full and Final''.
I filed with MCOL yesterday. It has cost me £290 for three claims totaling just over £8,000, the court costs are added to your claim at this point.
It seems that it is the only way to get your full amount.
My advise is press on and get all your money back. The bank is playing for time hoping that you get fed up and go away with nothing.
Good luck you will get it.

I wrote to Barclaycard, asking for statements. They wrote back to me, to say it would cost £3 a statement but they were willing to refund me a one-off payment. I am not sure how much I have been charged, but was refunded £504 directly into my account. I checked my statement online and there is was, now putting my account in credit!
This may not be the route you want to go down, but £504 with no hassle on my behalf whatsoever is what I call a result!Claimed back in 2007
Barclays Bank £2245
Barclaycard £ 504
Capital One £ 100
