Barclays Bank (merged)

hi, i'm trying to claim back from Barclays but i am in a bit of a confused state this morning so any help please!! Case has been transferred to local court in Birmingham, i have had a 'General Form of Judgment Order' today stating that if by 4th June i have not served on the defendant further written particulars of the claim specifying the name, account number and sort code of the account referred to and a list of all the charges complained of showing date and amount of each charge and stated the reason for it the claim shall be struck out without further order. I assume i have to send copies of all correspondence, statments and my calculations taken from the calculater from this website but who do i send them to - there is the address of the court on the bottom of the letter so do i use that and send it all by registered post?? I'm begining to wish i had never started this process but i guess that is what the bank hope yu will think and just give up!!!
i had exactly the same letter yesterday from Birmingham county court. I took them a letter with the name, account number, sort code and a list of all the charges, amounts and dates and reasons e.g overdraft fee etc, and posted a copy to the bank also by recorded delivery. (making sure the cout gave me a receipt) I have had nothing but problems with Birmingham court, my case was struck out as they had lost the paperwork despite physically taking it there and getting a receipt. Without this, they would not even look at reinstating it. They have lost my documents twice, not documented the account and I am still waiting for them to reinstate the case despite it being their fault. I made my claim on 3rd January and I still don't have a date. Good Luck!0 -
Hi Greenlight
We also sent letter on 29th March and have not had a reply, from what I can gather from reading the various threads/posts its is 40 calender days.
I was going to ring tomorrow but by the sounds of it I would be better going to the branch.
A question - My actual branch is 100 miles away from where I now live - do you think if a go into my local branch they will tell me if request has been received. (Original letter sent to actual branch).
Let me know how you get on Greenlight!0 -

Glad I'm not the only one.
The guy I spoke to was at a call centre in a far off land so I don't place too much value in what he says.
I don't know when I will have a chance to go into my branch (I now bank with LloydsTSB and only keep my Barclays account open because I have an overdraft with them!!).
Have they cashed your cheque yet?
I'll keep you informed of progress - hope you'll do likewise.0 -

I wrote to Barclays in February asking for my Bank statements, which they sent within in the week.
I then wrote asking for my default charges to be returned to me. I received nothing back from them, they didn't even ignolige my letter. So I wrote again on the 14th April threatening court proceeding, I have once again heard nothing. What do I do?. Go ahead with court proceedings?
Has anyone else experience this with Barclays.
 Lucy luck0 -
Definitely yes. They will probably offer you about two thirds of your claim. They did with me. I have now issued proceedings against them.0

that's the problems with financial institutions like banks.. always quick to contact you when there is something wrong but appear to be running in reverse when we want something from them!
In my case i sent my demand for the total charges & interest i am entitled to via recorded delivery to my local branch today, ok i could have sent it via normal snail mail or posted by hand but i believe it would have gone missing (accidentally of course!).0 -
