    hi

after receiving 6 years of bank statements from barclays I'm now onto 14 day letter, not sure whether to add interest or not. have used the mse calculator and my charges without interest were £1595 and £2038 with interest

i've read its really up to me and could be a bargaining point, just wondered what anyone thought, looks like people have just waited till the court letter, quite nervous about claiming and have read tons of info and forum messages, now getting quite bleary eyed and confused

    would appreciate some help please

Wait until you have all the details then progress for the whole amount.
Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.
  • Has anyone had any recent experiences with barclays from 2007 or know whether anything new has changed in the system?

hi, i'm trying to claim back from Barclays but i am in a bit of a confused state this morning so any help please!! Case has been transferred to local court in Birmingham, i have had a 'General Form of Judgment Order' today stating that if by 4th June i have not served on the defendant further written particulars of the claim specifying the name, account number and sort code of the account referred to and a list of all the charges complained of showing date and amount of each charge and stated the reason for it the claim shall be struck out without further order. I assume i have to send copies of all correspondence, statments and my calculations taken from the calculater from this website but who do i send them to - there is the address of the court on the bottom of the letter so do i use that and send it all by registered post?? I'm begining to wish i had never started this process but i guess that is what the bank hope yu will think and just give up!!!

Hey, saw this thread about reclaiming bank charges and on behalf of my gf Im going to give it ago.

Just a couple of questions though:

What are chances of this going to court?
What are the chances that they will close the account?
What are the chances of getting some money back?

Many thanks for any responses :)

I filled the case online so it was with Northampton... My case was then with Staines County Court... I filled in the forms, waited a month and now the judge has ordered it be transferred to Guildford County Court... why oh why is this happening??

    Thanks

Very slim chance, as the banks dont want to go to court as the judge will force them to show their true cost of charges.

What are the chances that they will close the account?

Every chance that they will, so you MUST set up another account. But hey, they took this money from you Unlawfully so why trust them again.

What are the chances of getting some money back?

Every chance that you will get it back because it is yours and not theirs.

    Good luck to you:cool:

hi, i wonder how many people have taken out expensive loans or borrowed on the mortgauge to keep their overdraft under control made worse by charges? surley if excess charges are against the law claims against the banks could be taken.

hi all,iam cliaming on a closed account how will they refund the charges
  • Just a little confused. I'm just about to to fill in the Court Claim Form, but not sure what amount to put in the "Amount claimed" box. Is it the charges with or without interest. So far I've been asking for interest. Am I correct in thinking that I can only claim for the actual charges, and if the court judges against B***lays, then I can add the interest? Or do I claim the lot at the outset?
