    Hi Lucinda
I recieved much the same letter as you, only difference I had already contacted them twice, was waiting for OH payday so can start court proceedings against them, the total I requested with interset was £3739.67, theyve offered me £2370.00, since I sent the 2nd letter Ive had another £120 charges, so unsure of whether to ask for the full amount, or just accept what they've offered, to be honest I could really do with the money sooner rather than later, as on disability. Any advice would be more than welcome.

A little vague Ginger spice but I do recall reading an article where someone contacted Barclays after the offer and asked for charges since the claim and got them. I'll see if I can find the article but don't hold your breath.

Yep, the 1st letter was askng for the charges to be paid back, (as already had the bank statements), this gave them 14 days to respond, sent that one on 29th March, sent the 2nd letter on 12thApril, informing them if I didnt hear anything with in 14 days, I would be starting court proceedings against them, I havent be able to start that yet, as disabled and havent got the right card to pay online. Was going down on friday to the local county court offices, and then recieved this in todays post, offering me £2370, against the claim for £3739.67 (this includes interest)

    Hi all

Well 13 days ago i sent in my letter to Barclays saying i had not received a satisfactory responce to my claim (i was told first they would be back in one month then a second letter asking for a further month for a responce) and hey had 14 days to respond or i would start court proceedings

So in two days i will start the claims process...

    Just a couple questions...

    1. I didnt claim the interest originally, should i be doing that now through Moneyclaim ? does that mean i have to recalculte all my claims amounts ?

    2. If so how does the intrest get calculated ? do i add it up in yearly amounts then add 8% each year ?

    3. How much would a claim for 4350 (curently without interest) cost through monetclaim online ?

Aplogies for the questions, i understand and im sure they are answered elsewhere but there is so much info on the site and boards it can be very overwhelming

Barclays appear to be playing nasty now... i have been asked to return my debit card and cheque book as i have gone over my overdraft aswell as cancelling all the DDs SOs on the account (not particularly bothered as i have no plans to stay with them once this is resolved and i have a parachute account already opened up) i look forward to getting all this over with so i can stop playing catchup with my finances and get on with my life

    Many thanks
    James

Hi james i sent my second letter to barclays on friday, and yes they are using dirty tactics, they canceled my dd's and so's without any notification what so ever, but be carefull dont use your card in a atm the atm will take it thats how i found out that they canceled mine, i told them that they can have there cards back when i get back what they owe me , stick with it go all the way and get the lot then tell them to stick there acc where the sun dont shine, i am and it will save me £14.50 a month to run the acc more money in my pocket not theres

    good luck m8

    Thanks for your comments Dave
Yeah i didnt really think of it at first as i am fully going to my parachute account if they close my account or not... although in a weeks time my salary will be going through and will have to pay my rent and bills all manually

Im going to sort the interest out tonight and get MCOL sorted... although cant actually sent it till the end of the week when i have some cash transferred to my new parachute account

Im really amazed how many people Barclays have done this to
