If your not happy with the offer reject it and continue with the claim im sure lots of times people have heard the line its our final offer and then been offered more. I think you can actually take the money but claim for the rest if you say you accept it 'without prejudice' not entirely sure though. Theres a post somewhere on here that can confirm it. :)

  • Hello all
New Boy so please be gentle.
I have followed the steps to reclaim bank charges and was offered £1000 pounds as settelment for a larger sum (£2300) I declined their kind offer and reqested they pay all of it and if they did not would issue proceedings in the county court, no reply was recieved so I issued the court papers. I have recieved a reply today and it states they will defend the claim.
I am not unduly worried about going to court but am at a loss to know what to expect next and would like to hear from anybody in a similar position with any suggestions.

    Its Barclays by the way...

    Regards All

well, i posted my first letter requesting that they send me 6 years' statements on the 21st march....and guess what hadn't arrived by this morning...? not even any acknowledgement that i'm starting this process. all i've had from them is my normal monthly statement, and other blurb inviting me to spend my money on even more of their products! what's the best approach next-should i go straight to the info officer and make a complaint, or rant at barclays down the phone and order them to send my statements forthwith or else??

    Hi
Im trying to get some help and advice here,
I have sent barclays all of the correct letters including my LBA, but due to a lot of things going on i have missed the 40 days limit by prob about 2 weeks i have since got back from being away on business for a week to find a letter from Barclays saying..
Sorry we feel you think the charges are unfair but they disagree blah blah blah and that they are unwilling to refund my charges.
Is it to late for me to fill in a court claim ?

Any help or advice would be gratfully appreciated
    Nic

i've just emailed barclays the following-

    "RE: JOINT ACCOUNT
my partner and i requested by letter on the 21st March that you provide us with the last 6 years statements. We are still waiting, and have not even had an acknowledgement of our request. As you have to provide this information by law and do so within 40 days, we now intend to take the matter up with the information commissioner unless we are provide with what we have asked for within the next 7 days. we have waited long enough, and do intend to persue this matter."

    howzat for starters...?:o
