Hi there,
After receiving 6 years of statements, i've put in a claim for £315.94 (inc. Interest). They replied quite quickly.
My claim to was sent on the 20th April, i've given them 14 working days which ends 11th May.
I've just received a letter today (2nd May) saying this..............
Your comments are receiving attention and one of my team will contact you as soon as possible.
May i take this opportunity to explain that whilst we enbeavour to respond to you within timescale outlined in your letter, we cannot guarantee that we will do so. Sometimes it does take longer to fully investigate a complaint. However we do aim to find a solution within four weeks. If we are not able to do so, we will always write to you explaining what is happening. A full report or an update on our progress will be sent to you within eight weeks.
Can anyone advice, should i go ahead and send the second letter when the 14 days are up? Or should i give them the full 8 weeks? Also should the 8 weeks start from my claim going in, or from the date of receiving this letter (today)?
Would anyone think that the letter they sent sounds promising, or hard to tell at the moment? Or has anyone had the same letter sent, and all went well and they paid up :T or did it go to court?
SO many questions i know
I look forward to a responseThanks!
I have received the same response. I phoned them today asking what the progress was. The lady replied that they were still looking into it but it will take time. I have posted the next letter today. Do not wait the 8 weeks; they had time to send a letter out so they have got time to issue a refund. Carry on with the time scale you have set and sit tight, even if it goes all the way. The lady I spoke to suggested I send the letter to the following address: Head Office
Customer Relations
Freepost RLTACSUETCHC
Barclays Bank Plc
1 Churchill Place
London
E14 5HP
I don’t know if it will help but the number I phoned was: 0800 282 390 This is the customer relations number.0 -
Vanman is great! He noticed a correlation between the date he sent in his court bundle and the date he got the settlement offer so prompted me to send my bundle in even though the court date isn't til 6th June. So:
16th April 07 - Court bundle sent
26th April 07 - Letter received offered £681.32 (charges, interest & £80 fee)
29th April 07 - Emailed Barclays to say I expect the interest to be updated to the date of their offer (equivalent to c£20) but suggested £700 settlement
2nd May 07 - Barclays accepted my suggestion, revised their offer and I accepted it.
3rd May 07 - money due in the account - I wait with baited breath!
Off to post this on the success board now!
My advice is if your at the stage when you've been directed by the court to send them and Barclays the documents you seek to rely on in court - do it sooner than later!!!

Weldone caz,
told you you would'nt have too long to wait. I think someone from Barclays watches this site and saw that you actualy took the time to READ the court bundle and they thought..my god this girl means Business we better pay up. lol

I'm no expert in things really but i do have 36 years of experience in life, and some of those years fighting off bailiffs.

I have just received my court date (25 July) and having read the letter from the court it appears I need to send them details of my claim. Is this the 'bundle' referred to?
Could anyone advise me on what to include? Do the court want copies of all the statements or just the calculation?
Also, what happens to any charges which have gone over the six year cut-off during the course of claiming?
Cheers,
Steve0 -
Received letter today from barclays with an offer of half of what i believe they owe me including interest, have already filed claim form with moneyclaim.
Just got of the phone to them to see if they were willing to haggle (was willing to drop the interest owed)but the guy i spoke to was addament that this is there one and only offer and he also claimed to be the customer relations manager (different name and sex to the one printed on the letter!).
I would be very interested to hear from anyone in a similar stage of there claim.0 -
