Some help needed re: charges please..

I regularly get the standard paid referral fee letter from barclays most months saying I have gone over my overdraft and have been charged £30 blah blah blah..

It quite clearly states "You will only pay one of these fees per account, per day and you will not be charged more than 3 fees per account within any monthly charging period"...

In March alone I was charged £30 on FIVE separate occasions, so does this mean they have contradicted what they have stated in the letter?..

Can I launch any sort of complaint/compensation claim regarding this, and will it help me if/when my current claim for default charges goes to court?..

Has anyone else been charged more than THREE times in any one month by Barclays?

    Any info will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    I have a dilemma.

I have registered a claim with MCOL for £2500.
I received a letter yesterday offering me £1600 (without any admission of liabilty) towards the total amount paid within 10 days of receipt of acceptance into my account.

    It's your shout Littonator.
I was claiming £3410, they offered me £2550 and I took it.
I need the cash now so it was an easy decision for me.
  • I have claimed £1500 from Barclays for unfair bank charges and they have offered £1125--Do I take that or insist on the full amount?

It gave reference to other cases, Do I print all these off as well plus sent me to other links about standard direction and advised what to put in. All getting a bit confusing I think:confused: TIA x

Yes it was - and I do understand legal jargon!!! It's boring as hell but I think worthwhile so you know what you've sent!

    Can anybody help me,
I have issued a court order to Barclays bank and they have offered me 800.00the total amount of the claim is almost 1500.00. I do not want to accept this offer but should I write back to them or ignore there letter, or should I accept?

You have filed a court claim so now you are entitled to the full amount plus interest plus court costs so that offer is absolutely risible. Do not accept. Instead, write them something like this:

"I cannot accept your offer of £xxx as full and final settlement of my claim. I will accept this as part payment and without prejudice, but will continue my claim for the balance. I have made a reasonable effort to settle this claim before issuing a court claim, but you ignored my efforts to settle this. Seeing as I have now had to issue a court claim because of your failure to deal with my claim in a timely way, I will now settle only for the full amount of charges+statutory interest+court fee."
