It took them about 3 weeks to send me the statements (for free as they returned the cheque) I went through the statements and highlighted the charges which came to £540. I shall get this photocopied and send a copy of these statements to them with the letter requesting the money back. If they dont reply, I still have the originals they sent me, so can do the next step.
Good luck
You are better doing a list/spreadsheet of your charges and not send highlighted statements as this list will be asked for at a later stage and will form part of your defence for court.0 -
I have just been to MCOL and Barclays Bank have filed a defence against my claim for unfair bank charges. I now  have to go through the court process.
Has anybody else been down this path and if so what was the outcome. It sounds more like a delaying tatic to me or do they actually intend to defend the claim in court?0 -

Thousands of people, the outcome is nearly always they will offer full payment if you stick with the claim. They are very likely delaying and have no intention of going to court.0 -
I'm scared...have just had a letter through with a court date of the 2nd may. It said the hearing should only last around 30 mins but i have no law experince and only really followed the templates on here so i'm worried i'll turn up on my own and they'll have all their law specialists there an i'll loose. My claim was only for £200 which is a lot of money to me and i really could do with it but i'm so intimedated now i'm thinking of canceling my claim so i don't have to go to court.
help!!!
I'm a bit annoyed too as my brother in law started a claim with barclays for £700 and all he did was write the 1st letter and they paid up straight away so why do i have to go to court for £200! it seems really unfair0 -
I have just finished typing up my letter to Barclays requesting the list of charges owed… Gonna post it recorded delivery on the way home from work this evening…
Here goes!!
Also got letters for MINT and Barclaycard to send too.
I'll keep updating as it progresses along.
Thanks to the all the people here at MSE for the advice they’ve given!!

Dont worry, you wont need to go to court. My claim was for over £3700 and they paid up 5 days before the court date. I have only heard of just 1 person from this site going to court and barclays didn't turn up anyway as they dont have a leg to stand on in court; and that person was only in court for all of 5 mins.
As your court date is 2nd may I would think you should get an offer by the end of next week.
Good luck to you and well done for sticking it out.:TNot just a white vanman:cool:

miss kitty do not worry! Please don't tell me youthought the banks would apply common sense to the claims!!
Its is 99.9% that the bank will not turn up, you will win charges + interest + court fee back. read through the threads there are literally thousands of people in your situation, and who have been in your situation and they will offer you sound advice0 -
