    Hi can anyone please help.

I have on my statements paid referals, but only at an amount of £10
Can these be claimed even thugh there as little as £10?
Also I have some stated at "upaid outs" 1 @ £30......
Can these be claimed also? Im guessing these are when not enough funds been in when a direct debit has been due etc.

And if anyone has the address where you send the 1st letter requesting the money back to
    Barclays bank plc
    Leicester
postcode , I believe this is correct address, but if anyone has the postcode and can confirm the above, would be very grateful.
    Thanks Very Much

If you go onto https://www.barclays.co.uk there is a list of all the bank addresses on there. Thats where i got my branch from (numbers also to save hassle being passed around on hold for ages lol)

Has anyone else got to this stage with Barclays?

It's now been over 40 days since my initial request (22nd February)for details of charges, I've been given the usual delay tactics letter but I've kept to the schedule (I wrote and told them I'd be contacting the Information Commissioner if they didn't reply - still no statements), I keep getting "cut off" when I phone them and today (eventually) they told me they sent statements on 31st March which I know they haven't as I have received nothing. They told me I couldn't prove I hadn't received them. I told them proof of posting is not proof of receipt and that's why I sent all my requests Recorded Delivery and that they hadn't got a leg to stand on legally unless they can prove I'd signed for them, which of course they can't.

I have today written to the Information Commissioner detailing all mail (copies sent), phone calls (dates/times/who I've spoken to), complaints numbers logged to Barlcays, so we'll wait and see. I just wondered if anyone else has had to take it to the Information Commissioner and if so have you had any success by doing so?

    Please help, I'm losing faith!

It seems you have been very patient with them, if i was you i would be straight down to the local branch requesting a print copy while you wait , Always worth a try, "Kick and scream"!!, Best of luck!! ;)

I am currently trying to reclaim bank charges from Barclays. I initially wrote to the bank claiming for just my charges no interest and was offered £300 but as the charges came to more than double that amount, and after following Martin's advise :money: I declined the offer. I thought they would have made a more realistic offer at the threat of court action but they did not and I am now at the stage where I have initiated court action and Barclays have filed an acknowledgement stating they will defend the whole claim. I was convinced that they were just stalling and that in 28 days time they will not respond and I will file a judgement against them and hey presto! :j get my money......but now I am not so sure! I have read a couple of threads on here about people having to actually appear at court, particulary with Barclays (it looks as though they are playing it tough!).

I just wanted to know what other people's dealings with Barclays have been? Has anyone been to court and Barclays actually turned up? If so did they win? Has anyone taken Barclays to court and actually got their money? As I am also worried that Barclays will not turn up, I win but then Barclays still not pay and i'll have to send baliffs in etc???? It all sounds a bit crazy when it gets to that stage!
Why are barclays being such a tough cookie???? Are they fighting all their cases?

Fighting is good, that means you get interest and costs on top, they wont learn will they, best of luck :p

Barclays have just announced intention to defend...1 day before the deadline (i.e. after 27 days).

    Oh well,next step I guess...

They defended the day after with me m8 (11th april)...Got 'Notice of Transfer of Proceedings' today...says that the District Judge Murdoch has 'ordered that the filing of an allocation questionnaire be dispensed with in this case unless the District Judge at the court of transfer orders otherwise.' Hopefully you'll get this too and the judge at our local courts will go with it...It'll save us £100 and speed up the time it takes to get our money, as we'll be skipping the 'allocation' hearing....:D

Usually this is charged when you are over the agreed overdraft limit, but they still allow your payment to go through but charge 10 for the priveledge. On my account they say they will only take three of these charges out per month, but on many occassions have taken more than this in one calender month. Claim them aswell, as they are still theoretically an unfair charge. Often they send a letter informing you of this charge after it has been applied. but strangely with me, dont inform me by letter if i have an unpaid out, which is 30 pounds. so it begs the question, what do they do for that 30 pounds??
