Hi ginger spice In answer to your question, I started court action two days after, as people on here said do not wait when their time is up ..go for it.

Hi to all reclaiming from Barclays,

I think I am one of quite a few who have not received their statements after the 40 days have passed,

Have just called and chased mine & spoken to a very polite gentleman who has taken all my details again & promised they will be re-ordered tomorrow & then "pulled out especially" & posted to me.

    If it's any help

Telephone number for Andrew Miskell @ Barclays Data protection 0156561 2017

Or general department numbers 0156561 4281 or 4208

I'll keep you posted if they arrive!!

I phoned the number above and spoke to a very helpful man..

Told me to expect them within the next week & 1/2!!

Jinxs m8...The first page of the court bundle, documents, has a list...the first 3 items are arestuff you have to put in...the first is your letters to and from the bank..next is your list of charges your claiming...and the third is your bank statements, i'm guessing?b98.gif Please, can someone confirm this...The rest is all in the bundle including 2 web links, which you'll have to click on and print off...just thought i'd point this info out to ya, a1248.gif as it baffled me the first time i looked at it...u12.gif

OK...decided to push the button and go for this, I must have paid a good 2-3 grand in charges over the last 6 years. I sent my letter to Barclays requesting statements on 2nd March and received a letter on 21st from Barclays saying they will get the statements to me within the 40 day limit and returning my £10 cheque.
I have a £3900 overdraft limit across 2 accounts and am always close to the limit. I've taken Martins advise here and opened an account with Alliance & Leicester but have just asked them to put the salary and payments transfer on hold while I take steps to decrease my overdraft ( They will only offer me a maximum of £2,000 Overdraft which is the larger of the 2 I have on my Barclays accounts).
I've also just successfully applied for an Egg Money card as suggested by Martin, whereby I will be able to pay money to my Barclays accounts to decrease the O/D from the Egg Card (for no fee). The interest rate is also only 7.9%, which is less than Barclays charge me for the O/D.

It sounds like I've still got a long way to go, but I'll keep you all posted.

Finally received my statements yesterday and have just gone through them and have a total of £1540 in charges, plus interest of £238.(I've not been as bad as i'd thought ;-)). Have drafted the letter and will be sending to my local branch in the morning.

Will print 3 copies today. If you don't mind running through what yu put in your bundle that would be great as on the CAG it says it add stuff if you want.

    Thanks

  • Hi Guys,
Have put Barclays in court via web. They have just acknowledged so far. Final date is by tomorrow so I presume they now have another 14 days to get their defence in.
    Any advice would be welcome.
    Kind regards
    Wiz
  • Hi all your successful claimants,

Wonder if you can help me, I have been battling with Barclays now for what seems like ages and they take everything up to the wire, now they have lodged a defence and I wonder what my next step is and if any Barclays customers are being successful or have any tips.

    Many thanks in advance:
