  • I have a dilemma.

I have registered a claim with MCOL for £2500. Barclays acknowledged the claim, which gave them 28 from the date of service to submit a defense. Their time is up on Tuesday 24th April.

I received a letter yesterday offering me £1600 (without any admission of liabilty) towards the total amount paid within 10 days of receipt of acceptance into my account.

    Option 1.
Do nothing and ask for a judgement on Tuesday for the full amount as Barclays have not submitted a defense in time?
    Option 2.
Respond to Barclays asking for £2000, a reduced amount?
    Option 3.
    Accept their £1600 offer?
  • Hello everyone, this is my first post, perhaps you could give me advice.
I've written to barclays asking that all my charges be paid back, giving them 14 days to reply. They replied saying they would look into it and reply by 11th april. That came and went to I sent another letter saying i'd take them to court if they didn't fully and finally reply within 14 days.
Another letter came today basically saying sorry but !!!!!! off, we will reply to you as soon as we can but by the 10th may.

As they missed their original deadline set by me, i'm sure they're trying delay tactics.
Should I go ahead and file court papers anyway or wait until 10th may for them to make me an offer?
  • I sent the letter requesting statement information for the last 6 years but have not heard anything back and it is now heading for 2 months, what should i do? I have the letter sent as recorded delivery. Should i send again?

i'm going to be doing this soon. i once told nationwide that they would have to take me to court to get all the charges back (it was only charges for returned DD) on an account i'd stopped using i know now why they let me off..

My balance with Abbey (which should be £35 in credit) now stands at a total of -£221.32 with charges imposed on the account since September 2005. I disputed immediately back then and was refused. Six months later I answered a demand for repayment with further dispute and they agreed to refund £184 but only repaid £140 and that was another three months later.

I havent received a thing since March 2006 asking for repayment of this 'overdraft' and my current statements shows I am "in the preferred In-Credit Rate for a higher rate of interest payable on credit balance."

    Hilarious :rotfl:

    Hi all your successful claimants,

Wonder if you can help me, I have been battling with Barclays now for what seems like ages and they take everything up to the wire, now they have lodged a defence and I wonder what my next step is and if any Barclays customers are being successful or have any tips.

    Many thanks in advance:

Jinxs m8...The first page of the court bundle, documents, has a list...the first 3 items are arestuff you have to put in...the first is your letters to and from the bank..next is your list of charges your claiming...and the third is your bank statements, i'm guessing?b98.gif Please, can someone confirm this...The rest is all in the bundle including 2 web links, which you'll have to click on and print off...just thought i'd point this info out to ya, a1248.gif as it baffled me the first time i looked at it...u12.gif
