Can banks take this money back once it's in your account?
Im going through the MCOL process but they have paid half as a goodwill gesture?
Thanks0 -
I filed a judgement against Barclays but just heard this morning that they got in just before me and filed a defence. Now I am waiting for a date in my local court.
I admit, this is making me really nervous....has anyone else gone through this?0 -
Thats about par for the course... same happened to me....have filed my Q&A and am waiting for a court date.
If you read the other threads you will find that this is standard Barclays practice. They will lag it out as long as possible.
When you finally get a court date they fold at the 11th hour.
Hang in there ... nothing to worry about... you will get your money in the end.:D0 -

thanks for the good advice MartialArtsMan, Or should that be your wife's ? i am thinking the same as you should I have accepted the offer especially now in face of the new tactics. But what your wife said is right. about the letter you said you wrote them before the court action, I am using Martins templates and the 14 days I gave to pay the amount in full is up, so do I go straight to the step 4 or send a warning as you did?0

Hi ginge, i dont like to sound like your dad, but yes you realy should get another bank account as it is advised in the first step to reclaiming your charges..

Called the bank today and the money had cleared in my account £3752.29:p
I told the lady that i would walk into the bank and withdraw the money and close my account. i was told that i need to give 24 hours notice. tough luck my money i will take it.
2 hours later i walked into the bank the guy asked why i was closing my account..duhh.. he says he knows nothing about the charges:rotfl: i could'nt help but laugh. I then had to go to the cashier to get the money and they did'nt even have it ready..dispite receiving an email to say i was coming in, then she asked me if i wanted it in 10's and 20's:rotfl: silly person.
That was a very scary walk up the high street to the halifax.:eek:Not just a white vanman:cool:

Hi Vanman, will get on to the bank account as soon as tomoz, its ok I dont mind you sounding like my dad, but its putting some years on you, Im over 40:rotfl: Hopefully Martin hasnt noticed yet so not gonna get told off, :money:
How daft are some bank staff, wud have asked for 50's, di you start to have your money paid into yr new account, or can you just open it then leave it with nowt going in?

Hi ya,
Barclay swrote to me today offereing me £1800 as goodwil gesture. Even though I have claimed for £2800. Its scary stuff but Im still gonna take them to court, so tempting to take the money and run though. But I need that extra money to get my daughter to uni0
