anyone got barclays bank address for requesting charges/fees refund, can only find address for back dated statements.
    thanks in advance..

Why not do as i did and just hand the letters in to your local branch. I don't see why we should pay postage as well, and at least you know they have received them.
It worked for me and i now have a court date; 16 April.:T

Trust me you will walk out of that bank with a great big grin on your face from ear to ear.
    Good luck

  • Thanks for that. I posted two letters, recorded delivery, on 8 March (claiming for open and closed accounts) and enclosed two cheques for £10 (didn't want to give them an excuse for stalling!). They have signed for the letters so no excuse. Opened a parachute account though, just in case ...

  • Dmdevlin .... I posted the letters to the address on the statements, the one in Leicester. Haven't heard from them yet.

To everyone .... when Barclays write with an offer, where is the letter from and do THEY send them recorded/registered delivery?

    Thanks

Hi people i have been on the phone to barclays to request my statments for the third time this week, it started three weeks ago when i rang them first to request them they said no probs they r on there way to u and will be there within 7 to 10 working days ,
So i waited and nothing happened i called back and they appolgised and said they were going to send them again by recorded mail , and it would take no more than 5 working days.
As to my surprise they still never turned up so i rang for the third time and got a supervisor and he said that the info i was given about 5 day delivery was rubbish and there has been no recorded application for past statments.
As u may of gused i blew my top at him and he has now prommised me they will be with me in 7 to 10 working days!!! keep watching for next update.

Thanks for that. I am still dithering, I think they might only pay the £705 and then dig their heels in. my other option of course is to reject the offer and demand the full amount within 14 days. Do you think the template step 4could be adapted for this ?

Send the letter before action saying thank you for your offer of £705 which I will accept in partial payment and without prejudice but if you don't offer the full amount I will be proceeding to court in 14 days.

does anyone know if you can claim and settle on charges/fees i know of, and then claim for the rest when i receave my statements.

i have statements totalling £550 but know there alot more that i havent got..

also wondering if after they settle with you, and u get a new charge can you claim for that (if that makes any sence lol)

thanks for all ya help people.
  • Hi i received my barclays statements without sending payment with 14 days, however, ive requested my charges from them and they sent me a letter a few weeks ago saying they would look into it and get back to me by 4th april! I wasn't going to give them that luxury but since i was busy too i didnt get round to sending the chase letter, so now i will wait. I think barclays are just swamped to be honest with the number of requests!! and are delaying people at different stages of the process to help manage it. But that's fine cos come 4th april> no response = court process!

By the way my statements didnt come recorded delivery.

Now I just have to give barclaycard a kick up the bum to get them moving as they have breached the time limit on data prot guidelines in providing info. So for every chase letter I need to send i will be invoicing them...... £25. If they refuse to pay on grounds it is unreasonable then touche!

    Data protection complaints see http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints/data_protection.aspx

they have limited powers, but if enough people complain (genuinely) then hopefully barclays will at least be named and shamed for poor data protection compliance. And if they cite it is due to volume of people reclaiming bank charges then hopefully this will hit their share price and hit em where it hurts them! Fight the Power!

    Hello,

I requested my statements from Barclays on the 26th February 2007 and received a letter back, dated 1st March 2007, stating that copy statements would be supplied to me within the next few weeks without charge.

Is there any thing i can do at this stage to give them a gentle reminder of my existance ?

PS Does anyone know the easiest way to downgrade additions accounts to become regular free accounts again ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Alex
  • PasPer2,

Give them a ring or call into the Branch and ask them to remove the facility. If they ask why say you aren't using any of the benefits and basically would rather the £11.50 was in your pockets than theirs.

I suppose they make bucketloads of cash off people who have additions (should re-name it subtractions) who never use any of the "add on's".

I have turned into such a millitant, I blame it on the bank not the boogie!:D
