Hi I have succeeded in getting an offer on my claim but I think I will go for the full amount. barclays have offered me £705.00 'as a goodwill gesture' against my claim for £1061.00 can anyone give me a format for this letter?
There is no template for this letter as yet. You could write that you will accept the amount without prejudice as partial settlement and will continue your claim for full reimbursement making claim at court if neccessary.
Short and sweet and does the trick. Do not omit the phrase 'without prejudice' it is important.
Good luck0 -
How long, on average, are people having to wait from their initial "send me the statements" letter, to actually receiving the letter? Any updates on waiting times would be very helpful.
Thanks to you all and WELL DONE to those who have had charges refunded!Claimed back in 2007

Smileysunflower,
I've been waiting for three weeks today and have heard nothing, I guess that its only halfway through the 40 days, so it wouldn't surprise me if I have to wait for another 20!
It would be so much easier if you could view transactions online going back years like other banks seem to let customers.
might phone them and say "oi!!!!!! where's me statements??"On the path to married life!0 -
me again...
Just phoned Barclays (08457 555555) just to query about statements, there was nothing on screen about my request for statements, which to be honest, I'm not surprised about.
However, I did ask barclays bloke if I could go in to the branch and get them to print out my statements while I waited and apparently they will! double checked this " are you sure?" "yes won't be a problem" "you're absolutely sure?" "yes it's fine"
Guess where I'm going on Monday morning. On the path to married life!0 -
hi,
ive had a barclays debit card without an overdraft facitlity and have been charge £30 every time they paid the direct debits...
Im wondering if the same priciple applys for non overdraft/direct debit charges as it does for overdraft charges (unlawful charge).?..0 -

I have only claimed £351.14 from Barclays from 29 January this year.
Sent two letters, the second one mentioning the threat of court was sent on 4 March and still I have heard nothing.
Good grief, £351.14 isn't exactly going to cripple Barclays bank is it? I'm a tad cheesed off, thinking that such a paltry amount to them might just be sorted out without the need for the court proceedings!
What a palarver!!
The thing is, it's my husbands old account and I'm doing all the paperwork. I don't think he'll attend court when it does eventually get there and was wondering could I attend in his place?

I posted my first letter and cheque, and got my cheque back along with all my statements within a fortnight. (From Barclays)0 -

Blimey, I'll be dead impressed if you manage to get all 6 year's statements from your branch!
It would be great if you can but I don't think it will be that easy. Where did you send your original request for statements to? and did you include a cheque for £10?
If so, if you sent it by registered post you should have a record of it being signed for and whether your cheque has been cashed.0
