Nothing has changed!! Debt collectors have no power.

They are not real solicitors either

Others will give better advice than me, but for now all I can advise is ignore them as they are in the wrong for numerous reasons.

Don't panic as you have done nothing wrong in law but they most certainly have. Hold tight and wait for the good advice.
  • Thank you both. I am so angry at this company I have almost picked up the phone to threaten them to take me to court before we pay them a penny.
We will hold back some more thanks for your advice. :)

Please don't consider contacting them they are not the council or bailiffs , they are just a two bit parking company, and dirty lying debt collectors with no powers. The blue badge scheme by the way is not valid in private car parks, check the pack that comes with the badge or yougov website.

You have a legal right under the equalities act to use disabled bays when they are set out on private land, by them turning down your appeal after you have informed and proved you have a need to use the space, you now have grounds to sue them for discrimination , others on here will give you a template to write to them if you wish to go that route.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

There's no point ringing them. It would be like trying to explain glacial erosion to a Bedouin tribesman.

If your partner wants to pay what you legally owe, then let him. You do legally owe the car park owner what they've lost as a result of your actions. And we are very careful on here, not to condone non-payment.

However, even assuming that you had parked unlawfully, it's a free car park, so the loss suffered by the car park owner totals exactly ... £0.00.

Personally, I'd make him write out a cheque for £0.00, write a covering letter offering this in "full and final settlement" and post it. :)
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

    Seconded.

@PhoenixR, under the Equality Act 2010 you had the right to use the 'reasonable adjustment' of that parking bay. You don't need to show any permit, any more than you would need to be driving a red car.

I would actually collect a few of the threatogram letters then send a copy of them all to the managing agents of Cardiff Bay Retail Park, stating that this is harassment of a disabled person and you intend to sue them for allowing their agent to pursue the matter when they were made aware from the outset of your legal right to use this space. Point out that the Blue Badge scheme doesn't apply on private land but the Equality Act 2010 DOES, and that unless they confirm that the matter has been closed you intend to sue them and the parking company for compensation.

Don't let your OH just pay this scam, like a mug (sorry!).

Nice one! That would have called their bluff big-time as in reality they wouldn't have had a clue how to do it, they never do it because they know full well what they are trying to claim off you has NO FOUNDATION WHATSOEVER in law, and cannot be enforced in a Court.

THEY broke the law in fact by trying to make you pay this as you were 100% entitled to use that disabled bay.

How shady this whole operation is, you can deduce from the way in which their ignorant twerp of a representative told you a pack of lies from the outset! That is the sort of people you are dealing with.

If you want to sue them for harassment just give me the word!

I've had a PCN from NGP from when I parked in a safe and unobstructive spot at my mothers apartment complex. I could not use a visitors space as they were full with residents second cars (according to my Mum).

It's nice to see so many positive threads about this unscrupulous practice.

I've had the Roxburghe letter and the one from Graham White solicitors. From the Law Society website, I confirmed that Graham White is a registered legal practice with 1 solicitor which happens to be at the same address as Roxburghe!

I shall follow the consensus of opinion and ignore them.

Who says Bedouin tribesman can't understand simple geographical concepts?
