Chicken breast fillet served on a bun with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. It's a very reasonable £4.95

  • Mmm. Not my price range for single burgers but given that you won't get this product elsewhere and if I can limit myself to one, I'd probably try it if I visited. I like chicken anyhow. But to be honest, they're all pushing a fiver now. You live in Bristol (not far from me, I'm Wilts) so you'll know that November is carnival season for Somerset towns. At these, burger van prices are extortionate and the quality is 5/10.

But you're not paying for the burger, you're paying to sit in the same seat Doctor Who sat in :p

But it's in Cardiff Bay which is a massive tourist spot so you won't find anything cheaper.

And I'm a bit further north than Bristol. Let's just say I hate Cheltenham :p

Though I need to go to Wiltshire. They filmed Doctor Who there!

  • Oh don't worry! I see Gloucester moving forward! :) No need for the rivalry and atleast prices there are cheaper from shopping to rates. The docks are marvelous, cathedral is great and the developments around the docks linking with the centre have come a long way... the future is ahead of you! Plus how marevlous that you can get to Cardiff via Chepstow on the A48 and avoid the nasty tolls (very scenic beautiful route via Westbury-on-Serern, I love it)... and you can get to Bristol via M5/A38, you're laughing!

Now I see your point, you sit right where the legendary figure sat! :)

Plus, the scenic and cheaper drive to Cardiff takes you right through some other locations, so it's all good!

And they filmed outside our Cathedral too, but that was before I moved here.

The Severn bridge is a funny thing. If you're only going to charge one way, then charge to leave Wales rather than enter, then you can double the toll and people will gladly pay it :p

You reckon? I always thought they had it right, don't get me wrong, I hate the charges but Wales sometimes makes me feel that England is a third world country. I find a lot of things better there! What's the benefit of reversing the direction of charge?

I was merely attempting some English casual racism. Wales is indeed a lovely place, and my travels there are all positive. The people I've met are all welcoming and everyone I've met has taken time out of their days to sit and talk to me about their filming experiences. Businesses have open their premises purely so I can come in and take photos. They are a proud people, but humble and honest. And I can't wait to visit again!

  • My wife and I went to Boots @ Cardiff retail park last week to pick up her prescription, unfortunately due to not being able to find a parking space due to the Christmas shoppers we parked outside Boots where she nipped in to pick the prescription up, I was in the passenger seat and saw no one taking a picture and no one came up to ask for the car to be moved, if they had I would have moved it... However 1 week later (Yesterday) she received a parking tariff notice for £100 and it will be reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days.. The notice states or reason - VEHICLE PARKED/STOPPED OR WAITING ON ROAD.. Now I'm not sure if there were yellow lines as this is not stated, but the vehicle was not in any way blocking any other vehicles....
My wife is under somewhat stress at the moment due to the loss of her mother... I will have to deal with this matter... The thing is I don't know what to do...

Is this a private ticket, form a private car park?

If so then you can ignore all their demands, take a read through the various posts on here and you will soon get the picture.

While its not usualy a good idea to park on yellow lines etc on private land, they are only there as a "please dont park here" as oppose to public roads where they actualy carry some weight.

If the road is private and not covered bya traffic order (TRO?) then the lines legaly mea nothing.

Well, rather than bumping two old threads and saying you don't know what to do, you could have actually read them and got the answer you needed.
