Hi,

i went out to pizza hut on the 16 of feb 2011 with my girlfriend then went to the cinema (odeon, which has its own carpark, red dragon centre) got back to my car and went home. did not see any signs where i parked(right outside pizza huts door!) but there was signs in other parts of this car park.

wake up this morning to a letter stating PARKING CHARGE NOTICE. from New Generation Parking, reason: NOT USING FACILITIES AT TIME OF PARKING

if payment is not received within 28 days of this notice we reserve the right to take further action to recover this debt with interest. outstanding tickets will result in your vehicle being removed without further notice. vehicles may be immobilised whilst awaiting recovery vehicle.

Read some of the million-odd threads on here, and follow the advice given about a billion times - ignore their fake letters, there is no fine, you owe them nothing.

Don't phone them, don't write or email, and don't ever consider even for a microsecond ever paying them a penny.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Well you are probably a bluebirds fan , and through clenched teeth ;) I can happily advice you to ignore the cowboys completely, from a jack friend down west lol
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

That would be an illegal act by them. It's against the law for a PPC to clamp or remove a vehicle over an alleged unpaid private parking ticket.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Great!! thank you so much for being helpful bargepole, taffy056, trisontana! :D made my day!!!

lol this made me laugh. thanks for the advice, i will just ignore these planks!
  • Did you get your car park ticket validated? I thought it was free to park there if you were visiting the cinema, but you had to have your car parking ticket validated by the cinema.

And I agree with the other posts on here - it would be illegal for them to tow your vehicle away in any case!

    Old thread - stop reading.

Waste of time reading old threads, the advice changed ages ago in 2013!

Good God who do they think they are with that charge notice. Love to see them try and explain that as a justifiable charge!

So if they made no contact before 28 days you would owe them £150! 100% more then the original unenforceable charge! Who dreams these charges up?
  • I was there on the same evening and got the same letter. I too did not see the signs and went to Future inn to get a brochure took a walk around the bay and grabbed a takeaway salad from Pizza Hut on my return. I am going to follow the advice of everyone and ignore it. A bunch of cowboys it seems.
