    PARKING CHARGE NOTICE £75.00
REDUCED TO £65.00 IF PAID WITHIN 7 DAYS
    8-14 DAYS = £75.00
    15-28 = £125.00
    OVER 28 DAYS = £150.00

if payment is not received within 28 days of this notice we reserve the right to take further action to recover this debt with interest.

An interesting statement on adding interest. My understanding was that to charge interest to an individual your company has to hold a credit license - no PPC is ever going to pass the rigorous rules to gain one of them.

They may well be trying to mis-interrupt the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. This only allows interest to be added to late payments between commercial entities rather than against individuals. Once again, a PPC who doesn't know the law.
All aboard the Gus Bus !
  • I've just recieved a final reminder from New Generation Parking in Cardiff requesting £150 for an 'offence' at the beginning of March. It's only through reading these threads that I realise that the original amount would have been £65 but the final reminder was the first correspondance i've had from them!
Going to ignore it as that seems to be the advice. Does anyone know of anyone who has been taken to court or anything though? Bit worried I could be the first :(

I love how they dream up random figures for losses suffered by the landowner!

    Old thread - stop reading.

Waste of time reading old threads, the advice changed ages ago in 2013!

Validation of tickets, etc is totally irrelevant and merely confuses the matter.

Ignore every little !!!!ing bit of !!!! that they send you.

  • Did anyone see The Ferret tonight?

There was a story on there about someone who had parked outside Pizza Hut and gone to the cinema as well as going to Pizza Hut. Their car was clamped and towed by NGP in another NGP managed car park because they didn't pay the fine. They were on holiday at the time and the total bill came to £750. The Ferret only managed to help them reclaim £450 of that.

I recevied a letter from NGP after parking up to go to Chiquitos which I later discovered does not share the car park with the other restaurants in that complex. I have ignored their letters so far after reading other posts but watching The Ferret has made me feel nervous. What if I unknowingly park in a NGP car park again??

If they do clamp you, jointly sue the landowner whom contracted them & the clampers as they can't clamp legally for any "debt" that vehicle owes.

Like spammers they only need a small percentage pay-out of the numerous invoices they dish out, normally paid by mistaken people thinking it's a real demand

Unfortunately they are duping enough people into believing their little bits of paper carry some authority.
Lots of people receive these and simply pay up!

The PPC's have been [STRIKE]clever[/STRIKE] devious as people know if you park illegally you receive a ticket from the council or police! They realise by ticketing and making the tickets look like real ones, people will pay up.

Imagine if a supermarket had a till on the exit and as you left the cashier said you have been in here 10 mins too long, you owe us £40 How many would pay? Yet the PPC does exactly the same and people do!!

For some reason the supermarkets and retailers just don't seem to get it! I also wonder how many of these places know of the harassment that follows these invoices?
