Hi guys....new years resolution to get some of these charges back!
However, I have hit a bit of a problem - I've closed down a number of my accounts and have no details for them. Will I still be able to claim? And how do I get my account numbers?
Thanks!0 -
Good Afternoon,
I have a querry. I was with Natwest bank for 12 years and found myself to be a very loyal customer until I got a mortgage with them. I actually closed all my accounts with them over charges in 2004. Can I still make a claim off them? I did have 2 current accounts, 1 mortgage account, 1 reserve account and 1 credit card. On each account I have been overdrawn/had late payments on them. When I moved to HSBC I destroyed all my paperwork and there for don't have a clue of my account details - I know my branch address + sort code. Need help - as Im now a student the money will be great to buy some reference books and maybe a laptop :-)
Firstly can I claim without being a current customer?
Secondly How can I found out my account details before I proceed?
I have a rough figure in my head of about £1-2k they may owe me.
Many Thanks
Kate :-)0 -
Hi, am trying to get my son to reclaim his bank (Barclays:mad: ) about £1400:eek: , and credit card (halifax   ) £500'ish  .
But one thought. Re the initial letter ( he already has all his statements - amazingly he'd kept them - althought they were frequently unopened & stuffed at the back of the drawer  ),
I do not believe these charges reflect the true cost to [INSERT NAME OF BANK] of going into unauthorised overdraft.
Does he still put this about unauthorised overdraft? I just thought there would be slightly different wording here.
Any advice would be very useful.
Many thanks to all you amazing DFW's

6 years ago I operated an Abbey Current Account (a little badly!) - closed it a couple of years ago ... moved to A&L to get £50 bonus and good interest rate for a year ... then once I'd had my year of good interest rate I opened a new Abbey Account (which I use now).
How do I find out my original current account number - my new account is blemish-free but I know there are charges on the old account. Unfortunately I took the whole 'home shredder' thing a bit far .. coupled with a 'life laundry' book and can't find any reference to my old account anywhere!
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.0 -
Send them your name, address at the time and your date of birth will help them trace your account.0
