Can I claim back charges off a closed account???

Can you claim charges back from recently closed accounts? I ask this because I had to close my joint account as split up with ex. (and this was the one with the majority of charges!)

Apologies if this is (a) a stupid question (b) has been asked before but go easy on me - I've only just registered as a user!

You can claim on a closed account and need to provide the sort code and account number when requesting details of the charges. They may claim 'difficulty' in tracing the account, even though it was only recently closed so provide your full name and address with postcode and details of the account with regard to joint names and type of account along with the date the account opened and closed.

Do everything by recorded delivery to ensure they receive the letters and aid you in calculating the appropriate timescales to follow in the procedure. Good luck

Hi eveyone am new to this wonderful money saving site so please forgive me for asking for help.Have moved house so i shredded all documents but now i would like to try to reclaim some fees of Barclays,closed account because of charges.So can anyone help is there away of getting statements when you cant remember account number just sort code.Please

Can anyone help me with this query.

I closed my Halifax account 12 months ago due to their excessive charges - id there any way I can claim the fees back - they came to over £300.00

Can you reclaim bank charges if the bank account is closed... i recently had to close my bank account with halifax and open another one... but i had a lot of bank charges in my old acocunt that i want to claim back..

i have a couple of accounts with lloyds and i recently closed one which i used for many years. can istill claim charges back on that account or does it have to be an open account?
