  • I have just joined this site and I am wondering if reclaiming fees just applies to banks or does it apply to credit cards as well. Sorry if I sound a bit of a wally.

    Maxy:confused:

I know that the advice with bank accounts is that they may close your account. What about credit cards - I'm in the middle of various 0% deals and do not want the cards prematurely to be cancelled by the companies.
  • Hi there I'm new here and I've got a question for you all

I'm in the process of reclaiming my bank charges, having sent claims off to BOS for two current accounts ( one old, the other new which together will probably come to a considerable amount ), and the Nationwide ( which'll probably only come to a couple of hundred pounds ).

I sent the initial draft letters off around the 10th of this month and haven't had any word back from Nationwide, BOS on the other hand promptly sent a reply saying my records would be sent and returned my cheques saying that in the interest of "good customer relations" they wouldn't charge me.
Just yesterday I recieved 16 letters through the post from BOS with copies of my bank statements that I'll now have to sit through and sort out.

After years of getting shafted from the rather user-unfriendly BOS I'll take great pleasure in reclaiming some money back - or at the very least causing them some inconvenience.

This is where I come to my question (....sorry for boring you all with my story up till now ).
So far I've just claimed on charges relating to my current accounts.
Does reclaiming charges also apply to my BOS Goldfish, BOS classic visas which are also a form, in my view, of bank accounts ???

Similarly, does the ability to reclaim past charges also apply to my Bristol & West building society mortgage ??? This in also in my view a form of banking account so I dont know if this would be applicable

If someone could put me straight on these points, I'd be grateful.
    Many thanx

Best of luck everyone in getting your money back !!!
  • Can someone please confirm - claiming the last six year's charges, if an account was closed in August 2005 does that mean I can only claim back to April 2001 or August 1998 i.e. six years from today or six years from when the account was last active?

Goldfish & Classic Visa cards are both Credit Cards and yes you can reclaim charges from them.

  • Can anyone please help with my query?????

Does anyone know what to do if you have bank charges on a credit card which have snowballed. This has happened to me with a card with a £250 limit. Because of overlimit and late fees the total balance is now £1000. I haven't paid all of these charges so I cant reclaim it.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get them to take these charges off or do I have to pay them to be able to reclaim?
