  • Hello.

I have just registered and this is my first post.

Apologies if this query has been posted before, but I did a search
and couldn't turn up an answer. I hope some of you good people
who have suffered a similar fate might be able to help me here.

After being with my Bank for nearly fifteen years, they closed
my (business) account about eighteen months ago because I
complained very strongly about the excessive fees they were
    charging me as a one-man-band.

While they refunded about a third of what was 'stolen' from my
account, I reckon they STILL owe me about two grand!

Bearing in mind that they forced me to close my account, can I
still reclaim the outstanding balance even though I am no longer
their customer and is the procedure for doing so any different?

Many thanks in anticipation of your assistance in the matter.

    Best wishes,

    JMcE.
  • well I dont know if ive been successful or not yet but this is what ive wrote away for because they actually lowered my limit knowing the estimated interest on the next months statement would take me over again
so im pushing for ALL charges when i get this
what i will be doing is clearing the majority of my account with the refund though

Can anyone please help with my query?????

Does anyone know what to do if you have bank charges on a credit card which have snowballed. This has happened to me with a card with a £250 limit. Because of overlimit and late fees the total balance is now £1000. I haven't paid all of these charges so I cant reclaim it.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get them to take these charges off or do I have to pay them to be able to reclaim?

    Hi tracyab1972,

You can claim these charges as they are charges they expect you to pay anyway. Request charges to be refunded as this is why your £750 over your limit.

Win these charges back and you may find it will put you back within your limit.

It's because of all the late payment and over limit fees that we as a nation become severly affected by adversity.

Credit card and bank charges account for about 75% of my debt, and thanks to this site I'm gonna nail every single one of them.

    Good luck

The only thing is did you accept the repayment as a full and final settlement with the agreement the account was closed? If you did then you cannot then go and claim the rest.
