  • Hi, this may be a silly question but I am hoping to reclaim my late charges on my Abbey Credit Card but initially need to obtain my statements for the last six years. Does anyone know if this should be sent to Abbey National or MBNA? Thank you!

I think this address should be ok :

    Abbey National
    Data Protection Manager
    Data Protection Team
    Regulatory Compliance
    Abbey House
    201 Graftons Gate East
    Milton Keynes
    MK9 1AN

I sent to this address with regard to my current account. Someone else may know of another though for credit cards so get a 2nd opinion. :)

    Hi All

I have 2 credit cards which I pay via direct debit on the same day each Month (when I get Paid)

I was not aware but for some time they were both charging me a late payment fee as the payment should have been paid a few days earlier

Does a late payment fee apply to the unfair charges Please

Thanking you all in advance for your help

HI I WAS JUSTWONDERING IS IT POSSIBLE TO CLAIM EVEN IF I CLOSED THE ACCOUNT 4- 5 YEARS AGO, IM NOT EXACTLY SURE OF THE DATE. I KNOW THE ACCOUNT NUMBER, IT WAS WITH THE FIRST TRUST BANK BUT I DO NOT HAVE ANY BANK STATEMENTS. WILL THEY STILL BE ABLE TO GET MY DETAILS AND REFUND ME OR SHOULD I JUST FORGET ABOUT. IM NOT SURE HOW TO GO ABOUT IT BUT I DO KNOW THEY WERE ALWAYS CHARGING ME SILLY AMOUNTS FOR MAINTATINING ACCOUNTS EVERY QUARTER AND SETTING UP OVERDRAFTS, ALSO FOR EVERY DIRECT DEBIT THEY PAID WHEN I WAS EVEN A POUND OVERDRAWN AND THEN THEY HAD THE CHEEK TO CHARGE ME FOR CLOSING EVERY DIRECT DEBIT WHEN I COMPLETELY CLOSED THE ACCOUNT.

    CAN ANYONE ANSWER THIS ONE

    THANKS

    Hi Ali

I have successfully claimed for a closed account, as long as the charges are less than six years old it is worth it, just follow the steps on Martins link and use the first template to request the statements and away you go.

    Good luck

  • She had lots of charges (before we met) from Natwest. She no longer has that account as she has moved to HSBC. Also we have moved house so the address is different.

How easy would it be for her to claim her money back from Natwest? Any thoughts welcome
  • If the account was still in operation less than 6 years ago then yes, she can claim her charges back even if the account has been closed
