Can I claim back charges off a closed account???

About to reclaim for an account which was closed about 3 years ago.
Can anyone help with the wording for initial letter to ask for amount of charges bearing in mind I am not sure exactly when the account was closed or the account number. Thanks

Send the initial template as usual but amend it appropriately and add details of your full name and address with postcode and date of birth for tracing purposes. Include any change of address you may have had during the accounts running and what type of account it was. I included the address of my local branch at the time just in case that helped in any way.

Would anyone be able to help?! Is it possible to claim charges back for an account which has already been closed? I was with Yorkshire Bank (left as Customer Service was appalling!!), and now with Nat West.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi just wondering if you can help.... i have closed accounts with lloyds bank account, egg, marble, and mbna credit card all of which i have paid charges too.... can you please tell me do these all charge for copies of my last 6 years statements and has anyone else taken them on for charges refund?? for some reason i feel nervous!!!

I have a closed account with RBS - I sent my 1st letter, then my 2nd letter, then proceeded with my court letter and today I have received a letter offering me £311 - I wanted claimed for £900 including the £80 court fee.

The point I am making is it is worthwhile claiming from a closed account as they will settle

Hi All, new user here with a question!

Over the last 6 years i estimate i have been charged around £2600 in bank charges, however due to the financial situation i ended up in, the bank (Barclays) closed the account towards the end of last year.

Do i have any hope of pursuing a claim for the charges levied against my then current account?? (i still having a savings account with them that i now use for my day to day banking)

I am new to posting to the forum today, but I have read many posts over the last few months and thought I would post a thread for the first time.
(Hope i've done it properly)!!!!

I'm I being stupid :undecided or is it possible to claim charges from a bank account which is now closed?

My Husband and I had a joint account for 6 years.

The account was closed May/June last year as we did not want to carry on paying for a bank account so decided to bank elsewhere.

I estimate that (Barclays) could owe us a few thousand pounds in charges, if it is possible to put in a claim.

I expect that this is a none starter, but I thought it was worth asking the question.

Any answers, comments or views would be appreciated.
