Can I claim back charges off a closed account???

Hi,
I notice the wording on the template letter for asking for charge details says 'list of all the default charges for direct debit, unauthorised overdrafts and standing orders...', isn't that wording only relevant to bank accounts and not credit card accounts and if so is it worth rewording it when sending to a credit card company to say for example 'list of all the charges for late or missed payments...'.
Thanks

Can anyone tell me if credit card companies are closing down accounts and asking for balances to be repaid after successfully claiming charges back.0 -

It is not a standard practice, however if they do you can always challenge them as its retalitory action.the way forward is the consumer action group .co.uk0 -
I too would love to hear if this has happened to anyone. I've spent a while searching this forum and other sites and I can't find any evidence of credit card companies calling in debts after refunding charges. However the card I would like to reclaim charges from has £10,000 of debt and I wouldn't be able to pay this back immediately.0

As long as you are making the repayments they will not close your account.the way forward is the consumer action group .co.uk0 -
Hi, im new to this site,so hello to everyone who may be giving me wonderful advice in the coming future:beer:
I would like to know if i can reclaim credit card charges, as previously i had a capitol one credit card. They charged me a hell of a lot because i was over the limit and paid late a number of times. I eventually paid it off and cut up the card and ripped up and binned the statement, so i have no records. Any advice will be grately appreciated. Thx:T0 -
