Can I claim back charges off a closed account???

Im really sorry if this has been posted already but I can't find it anywhere!

I am going to help my sister reclaim her bank charges from Barclays but she closed the account there (because of the bad service and charges after charges after charges) a year ago this month. - Can she still claim back her charges - she no longer has any statements so can we still write and request copies?

Just amend the letter to reflect the Credit Card charges and circumstances.

if so and you can't afford to pay the amount you owe, and are unlikely to credit somewhere else what can you do?

Probably better to delay your claim if you think this will be a problem. Generally Credit Card companies have not closed accounts, but there are no guarantees this won't happen.

I am going to send the cheques and letters anyway the charges may cover the amount i owe anyway. Hope this works but will prob start s@*tt*&g myself with the thought of court. hopefully it wont go that far!

can i send these letters to my credit cards and back account providers, as well as a store card i had to claim charges back, the store card has been paid off an one of my bank accounts were closed so can i still cliam from them

I've already closed my account 8 weeks ago because of the charges. Can I still try to claim the money back?

I didn't have my account numbers, I wrote to the CC companies and said I wanted to reclaim charges from closed accounts. I stated that I didn't have my account number but that I was sure they could trace my account through my address.

They must have been able to do it, as I've claimed successfully.

Send the SAR as normal include as much personal detail as possible including the address the accounts were registerd at, this will be enough for them to complete your request.
