Can I claim back charges off a closed account???

Hi All

After my inital offer from HSBC last week I was highly motivated looking for new game and targeted Marbles Credit Card. My balance is presently £0 but over a number of years, I have built up charges of £260. I sent them a letter and they have flatly refused - they don't agree with the OFT ruling (but so what - whats that got to do with the price of eggs?!) - however they have reduced their charges for commercial reasons.

According to them, these changes do not effect past charges so I am not entitled to anything :mad: . I'm sure they'll change their tune when they get a court date but I like to do some fact finding in advance.

There's not much about Marbles in these threads and was wondering if anybody has had a similar experience or already claimed from Marbles with any pointers i.e to use exactly the same approach as HSBC or to use a slightly different approach. The complaints executive has left a number for me to contact and I have half a mind to do so but just looking for some info about Marbles first.

Can anyone tell me if I am able to reclaim my bank charges on already closed bank accounts please. Want to claim but not sure how far I can push it. Thanks in advance.

im trying to claim my charges back from easy money credit card i had a few years ago , ive just looked it up on google and there is no easy money credit card around theses days does anybody know if they have merged or have gone bust

sorry ive found it so i thought id give them a call and i was told them dont hold the info on me anymore and was deleted can they do this, i thought they had to keep it on there computers

I just wanted to find out if you can claim the bank charges on credit cards aswell as I've had most people say you can't but I feel its the same as charges when you've gone over your limit on your normal current account. I'm mainly thinking of the late payment charges. Does anyone know?

Someone I know living abroad for a year has only just realised that their Yorkshire bank credit card was charging them a 4.50 handling fee each time the card was used.

Can these be reclaimed?

thanks codebraker, had found this address and asked for statements- i recieved them fri ,added up the OTHER DB charges on statements as i think this is what i can claim for . i think they must be late payment fees @ 17.50.
only came to 122.50 but every little helps! will wait for reply now. did you except the half they offered you?

A few questions from a new starter at reclaiming charges:

Can I claim for account which i have paid and closed?
What about existing credit cards which i owe money to? Can they demand full payment of the outstanding debt that i am currently paying less than the minimum to each month?

I also have an account with Mint and I am trying to clear it however i became lost in debt and i was unable to make repayments so i wrote to them asking them to accept lower payments from me and to stop the interest but instead they charge me every month with a £12 over the limit fee.

I hope i'm not a lost cause
