I've got some accounts (credit cards) where i have closed the account once paid, but their address for me would still be my old address. If i make a claim against these previous credit card charges, will i have to refer to, or even use, my old address ?
  • Give them any old addresses that are relevant and your current address.

    OK, thanks
  • Hi, this is my first forum, and it is hugely informative! Help - I have paid so many late charges on store cards M&S, IKEA, John Lewis, etc - Can the same principle work on the stores too? I have just calculated my bank charges on current account with Barclays at £1105 - which would clear my credit card. 2007 is taking back control of my finances....
  • What do you do if your credit card company has built up £563 debt in your absence all because i was £40 overdrawn before went to work abroad.
  • put a claim in to claim them all back.

follow the steps in the header if you have all of the statements etc then just send them the first letter, good luck!
  • For credit cards and store cards just amend the wording on the claim letter to say you are claiming late payments or whatever term your c/c uses.

  • I closed my business account with HSBC in November 2003. Is it still possible to claim excess charges on a closed account and how far back can I go?
  • You can claim on a closed account and can go back 6 years from the date you send for your statements/data information.

Hi, I'm new here and having gone through some pretty serious financial problems over the last 3 years, I am now coming out the other side. I have sent claims to the 3 banks I have had current accounts with for this time, but I also had a number of loans, credit cards and store cards, all of whom have applied a lot of charges over the last 6 years (we actually ended up in arrangements with all our creditors because the we missed a credit card payment, were charged, and the charges snowballed from there, as we paid the first charge, but this meant we couldn't afford to pay some other bills, etc - I'm sure it's a fairly common way for people who are living right on the edge financially to be pushed over.) My question is, can I claim for the charges that were applied to the loans, credit cards and store cards, and if so, is the process the same?

    Thanks for your help.
