Hi Melanda , the answer is yes provided the charges are within the last six years. I am in the process of claiming some £1600 from Nat West from a closed account.

hi, first of all apologies in advance if this has already been discussed but any info would be appreciated. I have just sent the first claim letter to Halifax and after reading this forum am fairly confident, its about time banks were made to pay for their inflated and unfair charges!

what i would like to know is;

are these claim processes only limited to bank accounts, can we apply the same principals to credit card charges?

Yes, you can claim for late payment fees.

Hi Guys and Gals,

I'm new to this thread as I usually post on DFW. I've got two closed credit card accounts (I paid them off in 2006). One is with Barclaycard and the Other Capital One. I've been going through my statements and between the two companies I've paid £680 in charges. Can I claim them back? WHat are Capital One and Barclaycard like? Are they going to prove difficult for me? Can't cope with any more stress!!!

I'd like to claim back the charges from an old bank acount that I no longere have. I closed the account less than 12 months ago (it was with Lloyds). Can anybody advise whether I'd still be entitled to claim anything andf if so if there are any special procedures I'd need to go through.

Still in the process but I am claiming 130.5 from HSBC for a joint account closed 2004. Cant hurt if you at least try. If successful I will post on success thread. 14 days runs out next Monday.

hi, can someone let me know whether the "letter 1" which asks for a breakdown of all charges for 6 years applies to credit card late payment fees, credit card overdrawn fees and all other credit card related fees or is it purely for your bank accounts...thanks

Just change the wording to say you are claiming back late payment fees etc
