Hi Lee
Just to let you know that I received your latest email about you forwarding to the relevant dept, then this afternoon I hooked the phone up to iTunes, not really expecting anything to have happened yet, but low and behold the magic message I have been waiting for appeared and the phone is now unlocked. Thank you for escalating it and finally getting it all sorted for me, your help has been much appreciated.0 -
You're more than welcome Chocolate dreamer.
Glad it's sorted for you.
Kind regards.

Before purchasing a new phone from Vodafone I specified I would need to unlock it to use it with my other sims - for travel purpose - the customer adviser on the chat told me I could unlock it any time, after topping up the phone with £20. The website also showed that it takes 48 hours to unlock the phone so I bought it and immediately sent my request. After 3 days I chatted again with Cust Serv. and was told it actually takes up to 10 days. I mentioned my previous conversation about being able to unlock it any time I received this "smart" reply that would offend anybody's intelligence: "Vicky: at 11:59:05 - That is correct, with the given statement what he meant was, you can put the request to unlock the handset any time you want, there are no restriction on the time to put this request. As in you can request the unlock code even after purchasing the handset immediately. However once the request is placed, it takes up to 7-10 working for us to provide the code" I waited 10 days. Then I contacted them again and eventually, after spending another hour on chat, I was redirected to NUC Solutions. I emailed NUC Sol. and was so thrilled to get a reply straight away, until I realised it was an authomatic reply that kept coming back to me no matter what I wrote: "Thank you for your mail regarding your Network Unlocking Code. Please note we are experiencing a high level of requests at this time. Your code will be provided as soon as possible. Kind Regards" Then, I got some emails in which I was asked for my details again: IMEI, phone model and number. After a couple of days they wrote again to ask for my name and email address!!! ANYTHING TO JUST WASTE TIME: I mean, I was signing all my emails with my full name and I was sending emails from my email address! Finally, they said the request had been put forward and it may take up to 10 days (again?!). The day after, £20 were taken from my account and a text advised me that I would get a code in 48 hours or 10 days (if the manufacturer has to be contacted). It's like being on a constant loop. I'm travelling in a few days and still don't know if I need to get another phone or wait for them. I notice from this thread that people have had much more serious issues than me! Please let me know if you have solved your issues with the unlocking code and how!0

Hi elisette77,
I'm sorry to read about your dissatisfaction with the level of service you've received recently.
If you'd like me to chase things up, could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?
Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. So I can make sure I've got it could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?
Kind regards,
Lee
