hi all, my first time in here (be kind)
My friend (honest) lost his house last year after he got himself behind in motgage payments and credit card payments, he has put them all on a payment scheme to pay them off. The question is can he claim back his mortgage charges for missed payments???? any ideas
I have helped him reclaim his visa and bank charges which we are waiting to get back.
thanks

After the major problems I have had with merging threads I've left alone a lot of stray posts about claiming on mortgages and loans but tonight bite the bullet and have merged them with this existing thread.
Please have a read through the previous posts if your question hasn't been answered but keep in mind regarding mortgages this thread only covers late payments and not Early Redemption Fees and/or Exit Fees.
Please see the Mortgage and Endowments Board for the discussion thread regarding these subjects.0 -
hi, my sister has already applied to the bank for a claim on the charges to her account, she wants to know if she can claim off her mortgage company for the charges they made to her for none payment charges. Twice a month they tried to get the D/D payment and if there was insufficient funds to meet the payment her Mortgage company charged her £25 a time along with alliance and leicester charging her the same that for a few months came to £100 in charges. She feels confident that she will recieve in the end money owed to her from the BS but wanted to know if she had the same claims against her Mortgage Company for the same.0

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if you can claim charges on a Barclay car loan? - Our payment has been late (by a day!) a few times and each time, we have been charged £22.50! - can we claim these charges back? - if so, how do we go about doing so?0 -

You can reclaim late payment fees and ask for details as a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act paying £10 for this concerning the loan account in the same way as you would a bank account.
You can use the template letters and amend them to suit the differences in type of account and charges. Otherwise the process remains the same as with bank charges as regards timescales and entitlement to interest & costs at court stage. Good luck0 -
Hi
The Grim Reaper suggested you were the one to help on this matter!!
Can we reclaim charges for late payment of mortgages etc??
If so do you know how to go about it or is it just the same as claiming against the banks??
Please help if you can.
Thanks

You can claim for late payment fees and if you check back you'll find at least one success story in this thread.0

Can the principle of claiming bank charges be applied to claimaing back charges for late payments to mortgages??0

My post was moved here from another board. And it appears, from the post above that you can claim mortgage payments. But the next question is; do you claim back using the same method outlined for bank charges???0

Basically yes, alter the wording of the template to say you are claiming back late payment fees on your account.0
