Okay users feel how they wish to feel, I will not judge you and I will go as far to say I am highly suspicious to the authenticity of many a user upon this site.0

Rollernutty if you are reading go ahead as you have threatened within your post and report the user/s who may not be contributing towards the site in the designed way/s, Unfortunately for you many a user sign up for such forum sites just to upset the majority of new users and I feel you may of encountered a few of these users. Judging by their previous posts all I can see is negativity after negativity something which people are politely asked not to do although as said there are many ar*** in this world who unless fighting for their own problems the rest of the world does not matter to them.0

If we step back from the bunfight for a mo...
The company do not want to sell their goods for £1 - at that price they are losing money on most items. They mitigate this with expensive postage, phone calls, etc. They know that as soon as they say an offer is £1 it will generate a lot of excitement and buzz, it creates an atmosphere of "buy it now" to the show, where other goods are sold at a healthy profit, but they get you into the habit of calling up feeling you may miss something. The £1 sales are also to encourage new potential customers to experience the sales process, and capture more database details for other campaigns.
As they may only want to lose a few quid, they may have only very few of the £1 items, but use them to create a huge buzz. Making you phone in almost creates a lotto type raffle feel, £1.50 entry!
Bearing this in mind, it is not in their interests to make it "fair" to old repeat customers or open the lines before the price drops to £1 - they need to foster an air of competition and a race to get through in order to anchor the feelings they are trying to induce in the buyers. In short, it won't change!
Now I can see your point, if they say all goods are available simultaneously on their website, they should no longer make the claim, and claim instead that most goods are (blah blah) but sometimes the demand will be so massive that they can't do that. It's a smll change to the autocue blurb and/or online T's&C's. And the ASA may well agree, and being a responsible advertiser they will probably change the wording, but I doubt you will get easy access to those loss-leaders online again.0 -

That my friend is exactly what the company is trying to do.
There are other ways to solve the problem although if a solution to them in the meantime means more profit margins for them, then unfortunately they will and are choosing that alternative route.0 -

I will not argue with you as stated that is not the reason for the sites existence.
I will also again point out I am a user of a site of which the user has expressed their views to which they also state they are being very unfairly treated and are to be degraded with nearly every comment they make.
No-one on earth deserves to be treated in such a way as to demoralise them when they are clearly struggling to cope with the situation, If you feel you are correct with what you say and they keep on and on that you are wrong then just state something like I will agree to disagree and I am sorry I can be of no further help to yourself.
Wether the user is in the right or not they do have the right to claim the company is false advertising by using sentences such as you can buy all of our days listings via our website when in fact you cannot. Like it or lump it this is actually false advertising.0 -
Occam's razor. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Again I will not stoop to the levels of the odd user who join such sites just to upset their fellow user.
No company can state if they have via the television false information as they are highly regulated and the same regulations are applicable online should they state such information they are unable to do so.
The advertising authority allows for genuine mistakes and can suggest as and were improvements can be made and should a company choose not to comply with a regulation they insist that they must then such company can be closed down or heavily fined.
Occam's razor does not come into the equasion it is the law of the United Kingdom not based on assumptions.
If you have legal knowledge of such subjects you will know this is factual information again we will have to agree to disagree as I am unable to change your opinion although be carefull when providing false information as you as the poster can be held accountable for such informtion.0 -
