If you really believe that they are falsely advertising, report them to the Advertising Standards Authority.
The ASA can decide whether or not the channel can still make the claims they make. They cannot however force them to sell something to you and they cannot make them review their business model.
they can close them down though if its a change they must make, but thankyou for the comment, its not negative it is a solution, i have already contacted ofcom and await reply0 -

The ASA will not "close them down" - all they will do is stop them saying you can buy on the web in their ads (if that is what they actually do because I have not checked it out)
No-one can force them into selling on the web.
PS: The board IS regulated by the mods and they can and do delete posts if deemed to have broken the forum rules.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

what i meant is close them if they refuse to stop saying that
i read in the forum rules it is unregulated, unless someone reports a user as then they have to look at the users post
i feel they state you can buy everything they are showing on air via the web using
You can also find all TV auctions for today in time order by clicking on the top banner in the middle of the homepage. If you'd like more information on future TV products you can use the TV listings area at the bottom of the left hand navigation. Here you can see the products that will be on air up to 3 days in advance.
Keep an eye on the "Live on TV now" area on the right hand side of the homepage to see what product is currently on air. It is only when the product is displayed here that you can "Buy now
Either way the post was not originally started to say wether we have a right to buy online or not, i am a newbie and could not find/think were to post the article but felt this maybe the place?
if it is under the wrong section is there another section it should go under?
as said though i am not complaining about the right to buy the item via the web more about we should be allowed to buy the item via the web once live on air as they claim and just needed somewere to post the dissapointment that this way of buying has been removed without considering other options0 -

Ok - my bad. It is regulated insofar as you can complain and the mods will delete or remove text if deemed to have broken rulesrollernutty wrote: »Either way the post was not originally started to say wether we have a right to buy online or not, i am a newbie and could not find/think were to post the article but felt this maybe the place?

I think this is part of the problem - this is the Consumer Rights board and, as people have said over and over again - you have the right to use an alternative method e.g. phone (and it is irrelevant whether or not you can physically do this), you have the right to complain and you also have the right to turn the tv off.
You don't have the right to force the seller to let you use the web to buy things.
Perhaps you should have used the "Praise, Vent and Warnings" board.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
When a TV product is being sold live on TV you can buy it instantly through the website. If the TV product you are interested in has yet to go on air you can enter a bid in advance on the website. Simply enter the maximum you wish to pay for that product and if the price falls to your bid amount or lower you'll get the item0

you see thats the other problem i am finding hard to understand, people feel i have the right to buy via the phone, yet when it comes to via the web........
but hey ho
my main problem is just turning the tv off does not solve the problem, i would like to buy the item/s which i like megadrops or not and have been with the channels since the start and to just be moreorless told by the company we dont want your custom after 10ish years it is now then obviously it starts to upset me/some others, i want to buy with them but if they are going to tell me what i can and cannot buy i dont want to shop with them and wont0 -
ps if we feel they maybe posted in the wrong section, is there a way to repost them under the correct section without having to restart the entire post?0

Never actually said you had the right to buy by phone - I said you have the right to use an alternative method that they offer ( e.g. - For Example - One method they still seem to use - etc, etc )rollernutty wrote: »....but if they are going to tell me what i can and cannot buy i dont want to shop with them and wont
To be honest - that is possibly your best option - take your business elsewhere. If enough "Web" people did this and they lose money because of it, then the company may reconsider their decision.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
is this correct?
The ASA is the UK's independent regulator of advertising across all media, including, from 1 March, marketing on websites. We work to ensure ads are legal, decent, honest and truthful by
applying the Advertising Codes0 -

i meant along the lines of other users, but yes the right for a way of buying, why should there be 1 way to buy yet not another way which is already established, the only way they maybe able to solve the issue other than revoking their decision basically is just to close the website down, as people wont want to stay around if they get told when they can and cannot use it as people wont know what they can and cannot buy0
